你们炫耀自己征服了罗底巴，吹嘘凭自己的能力夺取了加宁。

你们以夺取罗底巴为夸耀，说：“我们夺取加宁不是靠自己的力量吗？”

你們喜愛虛浮的事，自誇說：我們不是憑自己的力量取了角嗎？

你們這些喜愛羅‧底巴的，自誇說：「我們不是憑自己的力量攻佔了加寧嗎？」

你們這些喜愛羅‧底巴的，自誇說：「我們不是憑自己的力量攻佔了加寧嗎？」

你們炫耀自己征服了羅底巴，吹噓憑自己的能力奪取了加寧。

你們以奪取羅底巴為誇耀，說：“我們奪取加寧不是靠自己的力量嗎？”

你們、你們這些喜歡虛無事的，這些說：『我們豈不是憑着自己力量而為自己取得勢力麼？』

虛無是喜、乃曰我儕之角、非以己力而得乎、

爾以虛浮之事、妄自誇詡、自謂力猛、足以勝人、

爾以虛浮為悅、妄自誇詡、自謂恃強得勢、恃強得勢原文作以己力取角

you who rejoice in the conquest of Lo Debar and say,“ Did we not take Karnaim by our own strength?”

You are happy because you captured the town of Lo Debar. You say,“ We were strong enough to take Karnaim too.”

you who rejoice in Lo-debar, who say,“ Have we not by our own strength captured Karnaim for ourselves?”

And you brag about your conquest of Lo debar. You boast,“ Didn’t we take Karnaim by our own strength?”

you who rejoice over Lo-debar and say,“ Didn’t we capture Karnaim for ourselves by our own strength?”

You who rejoice in Lodebar, And say,“ Have we not by our own strength taken Karnaim for ourselves?”

You who rejoice over Lo Debar, Who say,“ Have we not taken Karnaim for ourselves By our own strength?”

ye that rejoice in a thing of nought, that say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength?

You are happy because you conquered Lo-Debar. You say,“ Did we not conquer Karnaim by our own power?”

you who rejoice in a thing of nothing, who say,‘ Haven’t we taken for ourselves horns by our own strength?’

And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink,[ and] be merry.But God said unto him,[ Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which[ is] in Jerusalem.Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise[ man] glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty[ man] glory in his might, let not the rich[ man] glory in his riches:

Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these[ things] God will bring thee into judgment.

And he said,[ It is] not the voice of[ them that] shout for mastery, neither[ is it] the voice of[ them that] cry for being overcome:[ but] the noise of[ them that] sing do I hear.And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.

The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.And in that day it shall come to pass,[ that] the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.

And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah,[ that] Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.

Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.
