撒母耳對民眾說：「來吧，我們到吉甲去，在那裡重新立國。」

耶和華說：「因他們在吉甲的一切惡行，我已憎惡他們。因他們的惡行，我要將他們逐出我的家，不再愛他們，他們的首領都是悖逆之人。

因此，戰爭的喧囂將從你們中間傳出，你們的一切堡壘將被摧毀，恰如沙勒幔摧毀伯·亞比勒，將城中的母子一同摔死。伯特利啊，你罪大惡極，必將遭遇同樣的下場。那日來臨時，以色列的王將被徹底消滅。

基列人充滿罪惡，終必滅亡。他們在吉甲用公牛獻祭，他們的祭壇像田間犁溝裡的石堆。

當然我們也跟成熟的人談論智慧，不過並非這個世代的智慧，也不是那些在世上當權、將來要衰亡之人的智慧。

祂挫敗列國的謀算，攔阻列邦的計劃。

他每年都到伯利恆、吉甲、米斯巴各地巡迴，審理以色列人的案件。

我要毀滅你們的邱壇，拆掉你們的香壇，把你們的屍體堆在你們毫無氣息的神像上。我厭惡你們。我要使你們的城邑淪為廢墟，使你們的敬拜場所荒涼，也不再悅納你們的馨香之祭。我要使你們的土地荒廢，連佔據那裡的敵人也為此而震驚。

亞文的邱壇——以色列犯罪之地要被拆毀。他們的祭壇上要長滿荊棘和蒺藜。他們要向高山說：「遮蓋我們吧！」對小丘說：「倒在我們身上吧！」

憎恨你的人必抱愧蒙羞，惡人的帳篷必不復存在。」
