Now this is what the Lord says to the family of Israel:“ Come back to me and live!

This is what the Lord says to Israel:“ Seek me and live;

The Lord speaks to the people of Israel. He says,“ Look to me and live.

For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel:“ Seek me and live;

For the LORD says to the house of Israel: Seek me and live!

For this is what the Lord says to the house of Israel:“ Seek Me so that you may live.

For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel:“ Seek Me and live;

For thus saith Jehovah unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live;

For the Lord says to the house of Israel: Seek Me and live!

For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:

The LORD says this to the family of Israel:“ Seek me so you can live!

For Yahweh says to the house of Israel:“ Seek me, and you will live;

and he went out to meet King Asa as he was returning from the battle.“ Listen to me, Asa!” he shouted.“ Listen, all you people of Judah and Benjamin! The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you.

Seek the Lord, all who are humble, and follow his commands. Seek to do what is right and to live humbly. Perhaps even yet the Lord will protect you— protect you from his anger on that day of destruction.

“ Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.

The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.

In those days when you pray, I will listen.If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.

Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord.Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him.

During the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, Josiah began to seek the God of his ancestor David. Then in the twelfth year he began to purify Judah and Jerusalem, destroying all the pagan shrines, the Asherah poles, and the carved idols and cast images.

The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged.

“ In the future, when you experience all these blessings and curses I have listed for you, and when you are living among the nations to which the Lord your God has exiled you, take to heart all these instructions.If at that time you and your children return to the Lord your God, and if you obey with all your heart and all your soul all the commands I have given you today,then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes. He will have mercy on you and gather you back from all the nations where he has scattered you.Even though you are banished to the ends of the earth, the Lord your God will gather you from there and bring you back again.The Lord your God will return you to the land that belonged to your ancestors, and you will possess that land again. Then he will make you even more prosperous and numerous than your ancestors!“ The Lord your God will change your heart and the hearts of all your descendants, so that you will love him with all your heart and soul and so you may live!The Lord your God will inflict all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate and persecute you.Then you will again obey the Lord and keep all his commands that I am giving you today.

The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.

“ And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

The poor will eat and be satisfied. All who seek the Lord will praise him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy.

My heart has heard you say,“ Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds,“ Lord, I am coming.”

Jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the Lord for guidance. He also ordered everyone in Judah to begin fasting.

Come back to the Lord and live! Otherwise, he will roar through Israel like a fire, devouring you completely. Your gods in Bethel won’t be able to quench the flames.
