以色列家啊！你們在曠野四十年，有獻燔祭和素祭給我嗎？

『以色列家啊，你們在曠野四十年何嘗將祭物和供物獻給我呢？

以色列家歟、爾在曠野歷四十年、豈以犧牲素祭獻於我乎、

以色列族乎、爾在曠野、凡歷四十年、非以牲牷祭品、奉獻於我哉、

以色列族乎、昔爾在曠野、歷四十年、何嘗以祭品禮物獻於我哉、

Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?

You did not bring me sacrifices and grain offerings during the forty years you spent in the wilderness, family of Israel.

“ Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, house of Israel?

Then God turned and gave them up to worship the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the Prophets:‘ Did you offer Me slaughtered animals and sacrifices during forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?You also took up the tabernacle of Moloch, And the star of your god Remphan, Images which you made to worship; And I will carry you away beyond Babylon.’

“ Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!

“ Even when they made a molded calf for themselves, And said,‘ This is your god That brought you up out of Egypt,’ And worked great provocations,

Forty years You sustained them in the wilderness; They lacked nothing; Their clothes did not wear out And their feet did not swell.

They shall no more offer their sacrifices to demons, after whom they have played the harlot. This shall be a statute forever for them throughout their generations.”’

“ Say to all the people of the land, and to the priests:‘ When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months during those seventy years, did you really fast for Me— for Me?

because they despised My judgments and did not walk in My statutes, but profaned My Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.

They are deeply corrupted, As in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity; He will punish their sins.“ I found Israel Like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers As the firstfruits on the fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal Peor, And separated themselves to that shame; They became an abomination like the thing they loved.

But they rebelled against Me and would not obey Me. They did not all cast away the abominations which were before their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said,‘ I will pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.’

because they had not executed My judgments, but had despised My statutes, profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were fixed on their fathers’ idols.

You have not brought Me the sheep for your burnt offerings, Nor have you honored Me with your sacrifices. I have not caused you to serve with grain offerings, Nor wearied you with incense.You have bought Me no sweet cane with money, Nor have you satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices; But you have burdened Me with your sins, You have wearied Me with your iniquities.

They sacrificed to demons, not to God, To gods they did not know, To new gods, new arrivals That your fathers did not fear.Of the Rock who begot you, you are unmindful, And have forgotten the God who fathered you.“ And when the Lord saw it, He spurned them, Because of the provocation of His sons and His daughters.
