以色列族乎、昔爾在曠野、歷四十年、何嘗以祭品禮物獻於我哉、

“ House of Israel, was it sacrifices and grain offerings that you presented to Me during the 40 years in the wilderness?

Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?

You did not bring me sacrifices and grain offerings during the forty years you spent in the wilderness, family of Israel.

“ Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, house of Israel?

But God turned, and gave them up to serve the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, Did ye offer unto me slain beasts and sacrifices Forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?And ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, And the star of the god Rephan, The figures which ye made to worship them: And I will carry you away beyond Babylon.

Now therefore fear Jehovah, and serve him in sincerity and in truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt; and serve ye Jehovah.

Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is thy God that brought thee up out of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations;

Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

And they shall no more sacrifice their sacrifices unto the he- goats, after which they play the harlot. This shall be a statute forever unto them throughout their generations.

Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and in the seventh month, even these seventy years, did ye at all fast unto me, even to me?

because they rejected mine ordinances, and walked not in my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the first- ripe in the fig- tree at its first season: but they came to Baal- peor, and consecrated themselves unto the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.

But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me; they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

because they had not executed mine ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.

Thou hast not brought me of thy sheep for burnt- offerings; neither hast thou honored me with thy sacrifices. I have not burdened thee with offerings, nor wearied thee with frankincense.Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices; but thou hast burdened me with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

They sacrificed unto demons, which were no God, To gods that they knew not, To new gods that came up of late, Which your fathers dreaded not.Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, And hast forgotten God that gave thee birth.And Jehovah saw it, and abhorred them, Because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.
