“ Go to Bethel and rebel! At Gilgal rebel some more! Bring your sacrifices in the morning, your tithes on the third day!Burn a thank offering of bread made with yeast! Make a public display of your voluntary offerings! For you love to do this, you Israelites.” The sovereign LORD is speaking!

The one who slaughters a bull also strikes down a man; the one who sacrifices a lamb also breaks a dog’s neck; the one who presents an offering includes pig’s blood with it; the one who offers incense also praises an idol. They have decided to behave this way; they enjoy these disgusting practices.

If he presents it on account of thanksgiving, along with the thank offering sacrifice he must present unleavened loaves mixed with olive oil, unleavened wafers smeared with olive oil, and well soaked ring-shaped loaves made of choice wheat flour mixed with olive oil.He must present this grain offering in addition to ring-shaped loaves of leavened bread which regularly accompany the sacrifice of his thanksgiving peace offering.He must present one of each kind of grain offering as a contribution offering to the LORD; it belongs to the priest who splashes the blood of the peace offering.The meat of his thanksgiving peace offering must be eaten on the day of his offering; he must not set any of it aside until morning.

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people!Let them present thank offerings, and loudly proclaim what he has done!

Whoever presents a thank-offering honors me. To whoever obeys my commands, I will reveal my power to deliver.”

I am not condemning you because of your sacrifices, or because of your burnt sacrifices that you continually offer me.I do not need to take a bull from your household or goats from your sheepfolds.For every wild animal in the forest belongs to me, as well as the cattle that graze on a thousand hills.I keep track of every bird in the hills, and the insects of the field are mine.Even if I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and all it contains belong to me.Do I eat the flesh of bulls? Do I drink the blood of goats?Present to God a thank-offering! Repay your vows to the sovereign One!
