你們撒種，倒撒的多，收入的卻少；你們喫，卻喫不飽；喝，卻喝不足；有得穿，卻穿不暖；得了工錢，卻把工錢裝到刺破的口袋裏！

亞哈對俄巴底說：『你走遍這地，到所有的水泉旁、和所有的谿谷中，或者我們可以找到一些青草，把騾馬救活，免得將牲口剪滅掉了。』

他又對我說：『人子啊，看吧，我必折斷耶路撒冷中糧食的支杖；他們喫飯要按分兩、懷着掛慮的心情喫；他們喝水也要按分量驚慌慌地喝。我要這樣作，是要使他們缺乏糧食和水而彼此驚駭，在他們自己的罪罰中而消削淨盡。

我心裏說：「她行了這些事以後，一定會轉回來歸於我」；她卻沒有轉回來；她詭詐的妹妹猶大也看見了。

他們的貴顯人打發家僮去打水；家僮來到沼池邊，見沒有水，就空着器皿回來，失望狼狽，抱頭無言。耕種土地的驚慌失措，因為沒有霖雨在地上；耕地的人都失望，抱頭蒙羞。

你要喫，卻喫不飽；你的虛空感覺必老在你腹中。你必挪去，卻不能帶到穩當之地；你所帶到穩當之地的，我必交給刀劍。

困苦貧窮人尋求着水，也沒有水；他們的舌頭因口渴而乾燥；我永恆主必應他們，我以色列的上帝必不離棄他們。我必在無草木的高處上開出江河來，在峽谷中開闢泉源；我必使曠野變為水塘，使乾旱之地變為出水之源。

『我用旱風霉爛擊打你們，使你們的菜園和葡萄園荒廢；你們的無花果樹和橄欖樹都給剪蟲喫了，你們仍不回來歸我』：永恆主發神諭說。『我打發瘟疫在你們中間、像埃及的樣子；我用刀殺戮你們的青年人，同時叫你們的馬匹被劫掠；我使你們兵營中屍首的臭氣撲鼻，你們仍不回來歸我』：永恆主發神諭說。『我傾覆你們中間的城，如同我傾覆了所多瑪蛾摩拉一樣；你們像一根柴從焚燒中搶救出來；你們仍不回來歸我』：永恆主發神諭說。

以色列的狂傲當面見證他自己的罪；雖遭遇了這一切，他們仍不回歸永恆主他們的上帝，也不尋求他。

但在耶路撒冷的神言人之中我竟見過令人不寒而慄的事：他們居然行姦淫，行虛假事；又加強作壞事者的手，以致無人回轉離開壞事：他們在我面前都像所多瑪，其居民正像蛾摩拉。』
