“经文士和法利赛人哪，你们这些伪善的人有祸了！因为你们奉献薄荷、莳萝、香芹的十分之一，却放弃了律法上更重要的：就是公义、怜悯、信实。这些才是你们应该做的，至于前者也不可放弃。

并且使用一切不义的诡计，因为他们不接受那能使他们得救的真理之爱。为此，神就把一种迷惑人的力量送进他们里面，使他们相信虚假之事，好使所有不相信真理而喜悦不义的人，都被定罪。

既然人不愿意真正认识神，神就任凭他们存败坏的理性，去做那些不该做的事。

他们敬拜我也是徒然的，因为他们把人的规条当做教义教导人。’”
