以色列歟、我必如是行於爾、以色列歟、職是之故、爾宜自備、以迎爾之上帝、

故我必降爾以罰、以色列族乎、爾之上帝將臨汝、必預為備、思何以當之、

“ Therefore this is what I will do to you, Israel, and because I will do this to you, Israel, prepare to meet your God.”

“ So, people of Israel, I will judge you. Because I will do that to you, Israel, prepare to meet your God!”

“ Therefore thus I will do to you, O Israel; because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God, O Israel!”

“ Therefore, I will bring upon you all the disasters I have announced. Prepare to meet your God in judgment, you people of Israel!”

Therefore, Israel, that is what I will do to you, and since I will do that to you, Israel, prepare to meet your God!

“ Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel; Because I will do this to you, Prepare to meet your God, O Israel!”

Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel; and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

Therefore, Israel, that is what I will do to you, and since I will do that to you, Israel, prepare to meet your God!

For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord is coming just like a thief in the night.While they are saying,“ Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction will come upon them like labor pains upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness, so that the day would overtake you like a thief;

What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is the source not your pleasures that wage war in your body’s parts?You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.You ask and do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives, so that you may spend what you request on your pleasures.You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.Or do you think that the Scripture says to no purpose,“ He jealously desires the Spirit whom He has made to dwell in us”?But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says,“ God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”Submit therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.Come close to God and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.Be miserable, and mourn, and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy into gloom.Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.“ Watch out, stay alert; for you do not know when the appointed time is.It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay alert.Therefore, stay alert— for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—so that he does not come suddenly and find you asleep.What I say to you I say to all:‘ Stay alert!’ ”

You have not gone up into the breaches, nor did you build up a stone wall around the house of Israel to stand in the battle on the day of the Lord.

I searched for a man among them who would build up a wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.

I saw the Lord standing beside the altar, and He said,“ Strike the pillar capitals so that the thresholds will shake, And break them on the heads of them all! Then I will put to death the rest of them with the sword; They will not have a fugitive who will flee, Nor a survivor who will escape.Though they dig into Sheol, From there My hand will take them; And though they ascend to heaven, From there I will bring them down.And though they hide on the summit of Carmel, I will track them down and take them from there; And though they hide themselves from My sight on the bottom of the sea, I will command the serpent from there, and it will bite them.And though they go into captivity before their enemies, From there I will command the sword and it will kill them, And I will set My eyes against them for harm and not for good.”

The Lord God has sworn by His holiness,“ For behold, the days are coming upon you When they will take you away with meat hooks, And the last of you with fish hooks.You will go out through holes in the walls, One in front of the other, And you will be hurled to Harmon,” declares the Lord.

And He said,“ Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them;for they all contributed to the offering from their surplus; but she, from her poverty, put in all that she had to live on.”And while some were talking about the temple, that it was decorated with beautiful stones and vowed gifts, He said,“ As for these things which you are observing, the days will come when there will not be left one stone upon another, which will not be torn down.”They asked Him questions, saying,“ Teacher, when therefore will these things happen? And what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?”And He said,“ See to it that you are not misled; for many will come in My name, saying,‘ I am He,’ and,‘ The time is near.’ Do not go after them.And when you hear of wars and revolts, do not be alarmed; for these things must take place first, but the end will not follow immediately.”Then He continued by saying to them,“ Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,and there will be massive earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrible sights and great signs from heaven.“ But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, turning you over to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors on account of My name.It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony.So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves;for I will provide you eloquence and wisdom which none of your adversaries will be able to oppose or refute.But you will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, other relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death,and you will be hated by all people because of My name.And yet not a hair of your head will perish.By your endurance you will gain your lives.“ But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near.Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are inside the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city;because these are days of punishment, so that all things which have been written will be fulfilled.Woe to those women who are pregnant, and to those who are nursing babies in those days; for there will be great distress upon the land, and wrath to this people;and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.“ There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves,people fainting from fear and the expectation of the things that are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”And He told them a parable:“ Look at the fig tree and all the trees:as soon as they put forth leaves, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near.So you too, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near.Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place.Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.“ But be on your guard, so that your hearts will not be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that this day will not come on you suddenly, like a trap;for it will come upon all those who live on the face of all the earth.But stay alert at all times, praying that you will have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

I will confront them like a bear deprived of her cubs, And I will tear open their chests; I will also devour them there like a lioness, As a wild animal would tear them to pieces.

Your nakedness will be uncovered, Your shame will also be exposed; I will take vengeance and will not spare anyone.”

Or what king, when he sets out to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider whether he is strong enough with ten thousand men to face the one coming against him with twenty thousand?Otherwise, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and requests terms of peace.

For this is what the Lord says to the house of Israel:“ Seek Me so that you may live.But do not resort to Bethel And do not come to Gilgal, Nor cross over to Beersheba; For Gilgal will certainly go into captivity And Bethel will come to nothing.Seek the Lord so that you may live, Or He will break through like a fire, house of Joseph, And it will consume with no one to extinguish it for Bethel,For those who turn justice into wormwood, And throw righteousness to the earth.”He who made the Pleiades and Orion, And changes deep darkness into morning, Who also darkens day into night, Who calls for the waters of the sea And pours them out on the surface of the earth, The Lord is His name.It is He who makes destruction flash upon the strong, So that destruction comes upon the fortress.They hate him who rebukes in the gate, And they despise him who speaks with integrity.Therefore because you impose heavy rent on the poor And take a tribute of grain from them, Though you have built houses of cut stone, Yet you will not live in them; You have planted beautiful vineyards, yet you will not drink their wine.For I know your offenses are many and your sins are great, You who are hostile to the righteous and accept bribes, And turn away the poor from justice at the gate.Therefore at such a time the prudent person keeps quiet, because it is an evil time.Seek good and not evil, so that you may live; And so may the Lord God of armies be with you, Just as you have said!Hate evil, love good, And establish justice in the gate! Perhaps the Lord God of armies Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

For this reason you must be ready as well; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.“ Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household slaves, to give them their food at the proper time?Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes.Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions.But if that evil slave says in his heart,‘ My master is not coming for a long time,’and he begins to beat his fellow slaves, and he eats and drinks with those habitually drunk;then the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect, and at an hour that he does not know,and he will cut him in two and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.“ Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the groom.Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent.For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take extra oil with them;but the prudent ones took oil in flasks with their lamps.Now while the groom was delaying, they all became drowsy and began to sleep.But at midnight there finally was a shout:‘ Behold, the groom! Come out to meet him.’Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps.But the foolish virgins said to the prudent ones,‘ Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’However, the prudent ones answered,‘ No, there most certainly would not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.’But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the groom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut.Yet later, the other virgins also came, saying,‘ Lord, lord, open up for us.’But he answered,‘ Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’Be on the alert then, because you do not know the day nor the hour.

Come to good terms with your accuser quickly, while you are with him on the way to court, so that your accuser will not hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you will not be thrown into prison.

Refuge will be lost from the swift, And the strong will not strengthen his power, Nor the warrior save his life.

So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. Then if you are not alert, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.
