牡獅咆哮、誰不惶悚、耶和華傳命、敢不宣布之乎。

獅吼誰不懼、主天主有命、孰敢不述預言、

The lion has roared— who will not fear? The Sovereign Lord has spoken— who can but prophesy?

A lion has roared. Who isn’t afraid? The Lord and King has spoken. Who can do anything but prophesy?

The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?”

The lion has roared— so who isn’t frightened? The Sovereign Lord has spoken— so who can refuse to proclaim his message?

A lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord GOD has spoken; who will not prophesy?

A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can do anything but prophesy?

Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?

Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But[ his word] was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not[ stay].

For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it[ is] the king’s chapel, and it[ is] the king’s court.Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I[ was] no prophet, neither[ was] I a prophet’s son; but I[ was] an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not[ thy word] against the house of Isaac.Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.

And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.

Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

Then Peter and the[ other] apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey.

Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.Behold, my belly[ is] as wine[ which] hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.
