Mothers will be dashed to pieces along with their children.So it will be done to you, Bethel, because of your extreme evil. At dawn the king of Israel will be totally destroyed.

He chopped down all the incense altars throughout the land of Israel and returned to Jerusalem.

When all this was completed, all Israel who had attended went out to the cities of Judah and broke up the sacred pillars, chopped down the Asherah poles, and tore down the high places and altars throughout Judah and Benjamin, as well as in Ephraim and Manasseh, to the last one. Then all the Israelites returned to their cities, each to his own possession.

Human bones will be burned on you.’”He gave a sign that day. He said,“ This is the sign that the Lord has spoken:‘ The altar will now be ripped apart, and the ashes that are on it will be poured out.’”When the king heard the word that the man of God had cried out against the altar at Bethel, Jeroboam stretched out his hand from the altar and said,“ Arrest him!” But the hand he stretched out against him withered, and he could not pull it back to himself.The altar was ripped apart, and the ashes poured from the altar, according to the sign that the man of God had given by the word of the Lord.

Amos 9:1
I saw the Lord standing beside the altar, and He said: Strike the capitals of the pillars so that the thresholds shake; knock them down on the heads of all the people. Then I will kill the rest of them with the sword. None of those who flee will get away; none of the fugitives will escape.
