他將伯特利的壇，就是叫以色列人陷在罪裏、尼八的兒子耶羅波安所築的那壇，都拆毀焚燒，打碎成灰，並焚燒了亞舍拉。

撒馬利亞的居民必因伯‧亞文的牛犢驚恐；崇拜牛犢的民和喜愛牛犢的祭司都必因榮耀離開它，為它悲哀。人必將牛犢帶到亞述當作禮物，獻給耶雷布王。以法蓮必蒙羞；以色列必因自己的計謀慚愧。至於撒馬利亞，她的王必滅沒，如水面的沫子一樣。伯‧亞文的邱壇－就是以色列取罪的地方必被毀滅；荊棘和蒺藜必長在他們的祭壇上。他們必對大山說：遮蓋我們！對小山說：倒在我們身上！

所以在這民中必有鬨嚷之聲，你一切的保障必被拆毀，就如沙勒幔在爭戰的日子拆毀伯‧亞比勒，將其中的母子一同摔死。因他們的大惡，伯特利必使你們遭遇如此。到了黎明，以色列的王必全然滅絕。

又在瑪拿西、以法蓮、西緬、拿弗他利各城，和四圍破壞之處，都這樣行；又拆毀祭壇，把木偶和雕刻的像打碎成灰，砍斷以色列遍地所有的日像，就回耶路撒冷去了。

不要往伯特利尋求，不要進入吉甲，不要過到別是巴；因為吉甲必被擄掠，伯特利也必歸於無有。要尋求耶和華，就必存活，免得他在約瑟家像火發出，在伯特利焚燒，無人撲滅。

現在你去領這百姓，往我所告訴你的地方去，我的使者必在你前面引路；只是到我追討的日子，我必追討他們的罪。」

這事既都完畢，在那裏的以色列眾人就到猶大的城邑，打碎柱像，砍斷木偶，又在猶大、便雅憫、以法蓮、瑪拿西遍地將邱壇和祭壇拆毀淨盡。於是以色列眾人各回各城，各歸各地。

所以我必使撒馬利亞變為田野的亂堆，又作為種葡萄之處；也必將她的石頭倒在谷中，露出根基來。她一切雕刻的偶像必被打碎；她所得的財物必被火燒；所有的偶像我必毀滅；因為是從妓女雇價所聚來的，後必歸為妓女的雇價。

神人奉耶和華的命向壇呼叫，說：「壇哪，壇哪！耶和華如此說：大衛家裏必生一個兒子，名叫約西亞，他必將邱壇的祭司，就是在你上面燒香的，殺在你上面，人的骨頭也必燒在你上面。」當日，神人設個預兆，說：「這壇必破裂，壇上的灰必傾撒，這是耶和華說的預兆。」耶羅波安王聽見神人向伯特利的壇所呼叫的話，就從壇上伸手，說：「拿住他吧！」王向神人所伸的手就枯乾了，不能彎回；壇也破裂了，壇上的灰傾撒了，正如神人奉耶和華的命所設的預兆。

我看見主站在祭壇旁邊；他說：你要擊打柱頂，使門檻震動，打碎柱頂，落在眾人頭上；所剩下的人，我必用刀殺戮，無一人能逃避，無一人能逃脫。
