Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they sell the righteous for silver, And the poor for a pair of sandals.

耶和华如此说：“以色列人三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去他们的刑罚；因他们为银子卖了义人，为一双鞋卖了穷人。

“耶和華這樣說：‘以色列三番四次犯罪，我必不收回懲罰他的命令；因為他為了銀子賣義人，為了一雙鞋賣窮人。

永恆主這麼說：『以色列三番四次地悖逆，我必不收回成命，因為他們為了銀子而出賣義人，為了一雙鞋而出賣窮人。

耶和華曰、以色列干罪、至三至四、我不挽回厥罰、以其鬻義人而得銀、鬻貧民以易屨也、

耶和華又曰、以色列犯罪、至三至四、更鬻義人以得金、以貧者易履、故我必罰其罪、

主如是云、以色列人犯罪、至三至四、更為利鬻義人、為履一雙售貧者、故我降罰以報之、必不挽回、

This is what the Lord says:“ For three sins of Israel, even for four, I will not relent. They sell the innocent for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals.

The Lord says,“ The people of Israel have sinned again and again. So I will judge them. They sell into slavery those who have done no wrong. They trade needy people for a mere pair of sandals.

Thus says the Lord:“ For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they sell the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals—

This is what the Lord says:“ The people of Israel have sinned again and again, and I will not let them go unpunished! They sell honorable people for silver and poor people for a pair of sandals.

The LORD says: I will not relent from punishing Israel for three crimes, even four, because they sell a righteous person for silver and a needy person for a pair of sandals.

This is what the Lord says:“ For three offenses of Israel, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, Because they sell the righteous for money, And the needy for a pair of sandals.

Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes—

The Lord says: I will not relent from punishing Israel for three crimes, even four, because they sell a righteous person for silver and a needy person for a pair of sandals.

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away[ the punishment] thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;

This is what the LORD says:“ Because Israel has committed three covenant transgressions– make that four!– I will not revoke my decree of judgment. They sold the innocent for silver, the needy for a pair of sandals.

Yahweh says:“ For three transgressions of Israel, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they have sold the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals;

They have cast lots for My people, Have given a boy as payment for a harlot, And sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.

Therefore, because you tread down the poor And take grain taxes from him, Though you have built houses of hewn stone, Yet you shall not dwell in them; You have planted pleasant vineyards, But you shall not drink wine from them.For I know your manifold transgressions And your mighty sins: Afflicting the just and taking bribes; Diverting the poor from justice at the gate.

You who hate good and love evil; Who strip the skin from My people, And the flesh from their bones;Who also eat the flesh of My people, Flay their skin from them, Break their bones, And chop them in pieces Like meat for the pot, Like flesh in the caldron.”

“ They set up kings, but not by Me; They made princes, but I did not acknowledge them. From their silver and gold They made idols for themselves— That they might be cut off.Your calf is rejected, O Samaria! My anger is aroused against them— How long until they attain to innocence?For from Israel is even this: A workman made it, and it is not God; But the calf of Samaria shall be broken to pieces.

Hear the word of the Lord, You children of Israel, For the Lord brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land:“ There is no truth or mercy Or knowledge of God in the land.By swearing and lying, Killing and stealing and committing adultery, They break all restraint, With bloodshed upon bloodshed.

because they did not obey the voice of the Lord their God, but transgressed His covenant and all that Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded; and they would neither hear nor do them.

Woe to men mighty at drinking wine, Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away justice from the righteous man!

Woe to you who put far off the day of doom, Who cause the seat of violence to come near;Who lie on beds of ivory, Stretch out on your couches, Eat lambs from the flock And calves from the midst of the stall;Who sing idly to the sound of stringed instruments, And invent for yourselves musical instruments like David;Who drink wine from bowls, And anoint yourselves with the best ointments, But are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.Therefore they shall now go captive as the first of the captives, And those who recline at banquets shall be removed.

“ Harlotry, wine, and new wine enslave the heart.My people ask counsel from their wooden idols, And their staff informs them. For the spirit of harlotry has caused them to stray, And they have played the harlot against their God.They offer sacrifices on the mountaintops, And burn incense on the hills, Under oaks, poplars, and terebinths, Because their shade is good. Therefore your daughters commit harlotry, And your brides commit adultery.“ I will not punish your daughters when they commit harlotry, Nor your brides when they commit adultery; For the men themselves go apart with harlots, And offer sacrifices with a ritual harlot. Therefore people who do not understand will be trampled.

Now they sin more and more, And have made for themselves molded images, Idols of their silver, according to their skill; All of it is the work of craftsmen. They say of them,“ Let the men who sacrifice kiss the calves!”Therefore they shall be like the morning cloud And like the early dew that passes away, Like chaff blown off from a threshing floor And like smoke from a chimney.

Who make a man an offender by a word, And lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, And turn aside the just by empty words.

They are all hot, like an oven, And have devoured their judges; All their kings have fallen. None among them calls upon Me.“ Ephraim has mixed himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake unturned.Aliens have devoured his strength, But he does not know it; Yes, gray hairs are here and there on him, Yet he does not know it.And the pride of Israel testifies to his face, But they do not return to the Lord their God, Nor seek Him for all this.

For so it was that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and they had feared other gods,and had walked in the statutes of the nations whom the Lord had cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.Also the children of Israel secretly did against the Lord their God things that were not right, and they built for themselves high places in all their cities, from watchtower to fortified city.They set up for themselves sacred pillars and wooden images on every high hill and under every green tree.There they burned incense on all the high places, like the nations whom the Lord had carried away before them; and they did wicked things to provoke the Lord to anger,for they served idols, of which the Lord had said to them,“ You shall not do this thing.”Yet the Lord testified against Israel and against Judah, by all of His prophets, every seer, saying,“ Turn from your evil ways, and keep My commandments and My statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by My servants the prophets.”Nevertheless they would not hear, but stiffened their necks, like the necks of their fathers, who did not believe in the Lord their God.And they rejected His statutes and His covenant that He had made with their fathers, and His testimonies which He had testified against them; they followed idols, became idolaters, and went after the nations who were all around them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them that they should not do like them.So they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, made for themselves a molded image and two calves, made a wooden image and worshiped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.And they caused their sons and daughters to pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and soothsaying, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.Therefore the Lord was very angry with Israel, and removed them from His sight; there was none left but the tribe of Judah alone.

“ Oholah played the harlot even though she was Mine; And she lusted for her lovers, the neighboring Assyrians,Who were clothed in purple, Captains and rulers, All of them desirable young men, Horsemen riding on horses.Thus she committed her harlotry with them, All of them choice men of Assyria; And with all for whom she lusted, With all their idols, she defiled herself.She has never given up her harlotry brought from Egypt, For in her youth they had lain with her, Pressed her virgin bosom, And poured out their immorality upon her.“ Therefore I have delivered her Into the hand of her lovers, Into the hand of the Assyrians, For whom she lusted.

Also the people of Judah and the people of Jerusalem You have sold to the Greeks, That you may remove them far from their borders.

Hear this, you who swallow up the needy, And make the poor of the land fail,Saying:“ When will the New Moon be past, That we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, That we may trade wheat? Making the ephah small and the shekel large, Falsifying the scales by deceit,That we may buy the poor for silver, And the needy for a pair of sandals— Even sell the bad wheat?”

Are there yet the treasures of wickedness In the house of the wicked, And the short measure that is an abomination?Shall I count pure those with the wicked scales, And with the bag of deceitful weights?For her rich men are full of violence, Her inhabitants have spoken lies, And their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.“ Therefore I will also make you sick by striking you, By making you desolate because of your sins.You shall eat, but not be satisfied; Hunger shall be in your midst. You may carry some away, but shall not save them; And what you do rescue I will give over to the sword.“ You shall sow, but not reap; You shall tread the olives, but not anoint yourselves with oil; And make sweet wine, but not drink wine.For the statutes of Omri are kept; All the works of Ahab’s house are done; And you walk in their counsels, That I may make you a desolation, And your inhabitants a hissing. Therefore you shall bear the reproach of My people.”
