I will send fire on the house of Hazael that will consume the fortresses of Ben-Hadad.

So I will send fire to destroy the palace of King Hazael. It will burn up the forts of his son Ben- Hadad.

So I will send a fire upon the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the strongholds of Ben-hadad.

So I will send down fire on King Hazael’s palace, and the fortresses of King Ben hadad will be destroyed.

Therefore, I will send fire against Hazael’s palace, and it will consume Ben-hadad’s citadels.

But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, Which shall devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad.

“ I will set fire to the wall of Damascus, And it will devour the fortified palace of Ben hadad.”

Then Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz again took from the hand of Ben hadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken in war from the hand of his father Jehoahaz. Three times Joash defeated him and recovered the cities of Israel.

Then Elisha came to Damascus. Now Ben hadad, the king of Aram, was sick, and it was told to him, saying,“ The man of God has come here.”And the king said to Hazael,“ Take a gift in your hand and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord by him, saying,‘ Will I recover from this sickness?’ ”So Hazael went to meet him and took a gift in his hand, even every kind of good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ loads; and he came and stood before him and said,“ Your son Ben hadad king of Aram has sent me to you, saying,‘ Will I recover from this sickness?’ ”Then Elisha said to him,“ Go, say to him,‘ You will certainly recover’; but the Lord has shown me that he will certainly die.”And he stared steadily at him until Hazael was embarrassed, and then the man of God wept.And Hazael said,“ Why is my lord weeping?” And he answered,“ Because I know the evil that you will do to the sons of Israel: you will set their fortified cities on fire, you will kill their young men with the sword, their little ones you will smash to pieces, and you will rip up their pregnant women.”Then Hazael said,“ But what is your servant— a lowly dog— that he could do this great thing?” And Elisha answered,“ The Lord has shown me that you will be king over Aram.”So he left Elisha and came to his master, who said to him,“ What did Elisha say to you?” And he answered,“ He told me that you would certainly recover.”But on the following day, he took the cover and dipped it in water, and spread it over his face, so that he died. And Hazael became king in his place.

But if you do not listen to Me, to keep the Sabbath day holy by not carrying a load and coming in through the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will set fire to its gates, and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem and not go out.” ’ ”

So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and He continually handed them over to Hazael king of Aram, and to Ben hadad, the son of Hazael.

Now it came about after this, that Ben hadad the king of Aram gathered all his army, and went up and besieged Samaria.

So I will send fire on the wall of Gaza And it will consume her citadels.

“ And I will send fire upon Magog and those who inhabit the coastlands in safety; and they will know that I am the Lord.

Then Asa brought out silver and gold from the treasuries of the house of the Lord and the king’s house, and sent it to Ben hadad king of Aram, who lived in Damascus, saying,

So I will kindle a fire on the wall of Rabbah, And it will consume her citadels Amid war cries on the day of battle, And amid a storm on the day of tempest.

The Lord said to him,“ Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus; and when you have arrived, you shall anoint Hazael king over Aram.

So I will send fire upon Teman And it will consume the citadels of Bozrah.”

God also returned all the wickedness of the men of Shechem on their heads, and the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal came upon them.

Now Ben hadad, king of Aram, gathered all his army, and there were thirty two kings with him, and horses and chariots. And he went up and besieged Samaria, and fought against it.Then he sent messengers to the city to Ahab, king of Israel, and said to him,“ This is what Ben hadad says:‘ Your silver and your gold are mine; your most beautiful wives and children are also mine.’ ”And the king of Israel replied,“ As you say, my lord, O king; I am yours, as well as all that I have.”Then the messengers returned and said,“ Ben hadad says this:‘ I did indeed send word to you, saying,“ You shall give me your silver, your gold, your wives, and your children”;but about this time tomorrow I will send my servants to you, and they will search your house and the houses of your servants; and they will take in their hands everything that is pleasing to your eyes, and take it all away.’ ”Then the king of Israel summoned all the elders of the land and said,“ Please be aware and see that this man is looking for trouble; for he sent me his demand for my wives, my children, my silver, and my gold, and I did not refuse him.”Then all the elders and all the people said to him,“ Do not listen nor consent.”So he said to the messengers of Ben hadad,“ Tell my lord the king,‘ Everything that you sent as a demand to your servant at the first, I will do; but this thing I cannot do.’ ” Then the messengers departed, and brought him word again.Ben hadad sent word to him and said,“ May the gods do so to me and more so, if the dust of Samaria will be enough for handfuls for all the people who follow me.”Then the king of Israel replied,“ Tell him,‘ He who straps on his weapons had better not boast like one who takes them off.’ ”And when Ben hadad heard this message, while he was drinking with the kings in the temporary shelters, he said to his servants,“ Take your positions.” So they took their positions against the city.Now behold, a prophet approached Ahab king of Israel, and said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Have you seen all this great multitude? Behold, I am going to hand them over to you today, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’ ”But Ahab said,“ By whom?” So he said,“ The Lord says this:‘ By the young men of the leaders of the provinces.’ ” Then he said,“ Who will begin the battle?” And he said,“ You will.”So he mustered the young men of the leaders of the provinces, and there were 232; and after them he mustered all the people, all the sons of Israel: seven thousand.They went out at noon, while Ben hadad was drinking himself drunk in the temporary shelters with the thirty two kings who were helping him.The young men of the leaders of the provinces went out first; and Ben hadad sent out scouts, and they reported to him, saying,“ Men have come out from Samaria.”Then he said,“ If they have come out for peace, take them alive; or if they have come out for war, take them alive as well.”So these men went out from the city, the young men of the leaders of the provinces, and the army which followed them.And they killed, each one, his man; and the Arameans fled and Israel pursued them, and Ben hadad the king of Aram escaped on a horse with horsemen.The king of Israel also went out and struck the horses and chariots, and killed the Arameans in a great slaughter.Then the prophet approached the king of Israel and said to him,“ Go, show yourself courageous and be aware and see what you have to do; for at the turn of the year the king of Aram will march against you.”

So I will send fire on the wall of Tyre, And it will consume her citadels.”

So I will send fire upon Judah, And it will consume the citadels of Jerusalem.”

So I will send fire upon Moab And it will consume the citadels of Kerioth; And Moab will die amid the panic of battle, Amid war cries and the sound of a trumpet.

And they will know that I am the Lord, When I set a fire in Egypt And all her helpers are broken.

For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; And Judah has multiplied fortified cities, But I will send a fire on its cities, and it will consume its palatial buildings.

so if you have acted with honesty and integrity toward Jerubbaal and his house this day, be joyful about Abimelech, and may he also be joyful about you.But if not, may fire come out of Abimelech and consume the leaders of Shechem and Beth millo; and may fire come out of the leaders of Shechem and from Beth millo, and consume Abimelech.”
