And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord[ said] unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.This[ is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of[ one] Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

Shall the thing formed say to him that formed[ it], Why hast thou made me thus?Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?[ What] if God, willing to shew[ his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

For all those[ things] hath mine hand made, and all those[ things] have been, saith the LORD: but to this[ man] will I look,[ even] to[ him that is] poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

Good and upright[ is] the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?

But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.

Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee[ when thou wast] in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee[ when thou wast] in thy blood, Live.I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments:[ thy] breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou[ wast] naked and bare.Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time[ was] the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.

I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.

And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
