But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

Favour[ is] deceitful, and beauty[ is] vain:[ but] a woman[ that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

The memory of the just[ is] blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

And devout men carried Stephen[ to his burial], and made great lamentation over him.

If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering;If his loins have not blessed me, and[ if] he were[ not] warmed with the fleece of my sheep;

For if there be first a willing mind,[ it is] accepted according to that a man hath,[ and] not according to that he hath not.

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid[ her] in an upper chamber.

She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be[ ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what[ doth it] profit?Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do[ it] with thy might; for[ there is] no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
