對於已亡之人、勿過於哀傷、一如未具望德者之所為；此吾不欲兄弟之不知也。

爾曹恆有貧人與俱、然予則非爾曹所得而長留。

蓋爾等信而有行、愛而能勞、仰望吾主耶穌基督、確乎不拔、故在天主聖父之前、時切馳思、不能自已、

約帕有女徒名大比大、希臘語曰多加、平生孳孳為善、博施濟眾；適以疾逝、洗屍停樓。

此女傾其所有、而膏澤吾身、所以備吾之葬耳。

當斯時也信徒益眾、而中操希臘語之猶太人、訾議希伯來人忽其諸嫠之日給。

設有兄弟或姊妹衣食匱乏、而爾謂之曰：『安心以去、吾信汝必得溫飽；』而不給以切身所需之物、則亦何所裨益。是知徒信而無行、則其信、必索然而無生氣也。

耶穌斥魔、魔出而其子立愈。

竊者勿可復竊、寧親手操作、以務正業；有餘且可周人之急。

我裸、爾則衣之、我疾、爾則視之、我在獄、爾則來探之也。」善者將曰「主乎、吾何曾見爾飢而食之、渴而飲之？又何曾見爾作客而納之、裸而衣之？更何曾見爾有疾、在獄、而探視之耶？」

爾等常有貧者與俱、而予則非爾等所得而常有。』

吾以身作則、吾人皆宜親自操作、以濟貧弱；主耶穌嘗曰：「施惠之福、大於受惠；」爾曹其恆念斯言。

望吾小子、愛人以行、以誠、勿可徒騰口說、而愛人以巧言令色也。
