And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive him because it doesn’t see him or know him. But you do know him, because he remains with you and will be in you.“ I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his instructions have good insight. His praise endures forever.

There will be times of security for you— a storehouse of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the LORD is Zion’s treasure.

Teach me your way, LORD, and I will live by your truth. Give me an undivided mind to fear your name.

In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence and his children have a refuge.The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning people away from the snares of death.

Don’t let your heart envy sinners; instead, always fear the LORD.

This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Saul agreed with putting him to death. On that day a severe persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout the land of Judea and Samaria.

To fear the LORD is to hate evil. I hate arrogant pride, evil conduct, and perverse speech.

Iniquity is atoned for by loyalty and faithfulness, and one turns from evil by the fear of the LORD.When a person’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

The governors who preceded me had heavily burdened the people, taking from them food and wine as well as a pound of silver. Their subordinates also oppressed the people, but because of the fear of God, I didn’t do this.

So then, dear friends, since we have these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from every impurity of the flesh and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

This is why I am writing these things while absent, so that when I am there I may not have to deal harshly with you, in keeping with the authority the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.

Have you been thinking all along that we were defending ourselves to you? No, in the sight of God we are speaking in Christ, and everything, dear friends, is for building you up.

In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed.The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

What then, brothers and sisters? Whenever you come together, each one has a hymn, a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Everything is to be done for building up.

For we are God’s coworkers. You are God’s field, God’s building.According to God’s grace that was given to me, I have laid a foundation as a skilled master builder, and another builds on it. But each one is to be careful how he builds on it.For no one can lay any foundation other than what has been laid down. That foundation is Jesus Christ.If anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw,each one’s work will become obvious. For the day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire; the fire will test the quality of each one’s work.If anyone’s work that he has built survives, he will receive a reward.If anyone’s work is burned up, he will experience loss, but he himself will be saved— but only as through fire.

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace,encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word.

There was a celebration and a holiday. And many of the ethnic groups of the land professed themselves to be Jews because fear of the Jews had overcome them.

The person who speaks in a tongue builds himself up, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.I wish all of you spoke in tongues, but even more that you prophesied. The person who prophesies is greater than the person who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may be built up.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

So also you— since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek to excel in building up the church.

I am also going.Many peoples and strong nations will come to seek the LORD of Armies in Jerusalem and to plead for the LORD’s favor.”The LORD of Armies says this:“ In those days, ten men from nations of every language will grab the robe of a Jewish man tightly, urging: Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”A pronouncement: The word of the LORD is against the land of Hadrach, and Damascus is its resting place— for the eyes of humanity and all the tribes of Israel are on the LORD—

So the word of God spread, the disciples in Jerusalem increased greatly in number, and a large group of priests became obedient to the faith.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.

The LORD gave them rest on every side according to all he had sworn to their ancestors. None of their enemies were able to stand against them, for the LORD handed over all their enemies to them.

But a son will be born to you; he will be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his surrounding enemies, for his name will be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel during his reign.
