吃過飯體力就恢復了。掃羅和大馬士革的門徒一起住了些日子，

也沒有上耶路撒冷去見那些比我先作使徒的，惟獨到阿拉伯去，後來又回到大馬士革。過了三年，我才上耶路撒冷去見磯法，和他同住了十五天。至於別的使徒，除了主的兄弟雅各，我都沒有見過。

「後來，我回到耶路撒冷，在聖殿裏禱告的時候，魂遊象外，看見主對我說：『你趕緊離開耶路撒冷，越快越好，因為這裏的人不接受你為我作的見證。』我就說：『主啊，他們都知道，我從前在各會堂裏把信你的人監禁，又鞭打他們。當你的見證人司提反被害流血的時候，我也站在一旁贊同；又為打死他的人看守衣裳。』

那時，會有許多人跌倒，也會彼此陷害，彼此憎恨；
