All who heard him were amazed.“ Isn’t this the same man who caused such devastation among Jesus’ followers in Jerusalem?” they asked.“ And didn’t he come here to arrest them and take them in chains to the leading priests?”

凡听见的人都惊奇，说：“在耶路撒冷残害求告这名的，不是这人吗？并且他到这里来，特要捆绑他们，带到祭司长那里。”

凡听见的人都很惊奇，说：“在耶路撒冷残害求告这名的不就是这个人吗？他不是到这里来要捆绑他们，带到祭司长那里去吗？”

凡听见的人都很惊奇，说：“在耶路撒冷残害求告这名的不就是这个人吗？他不是到这里来要捆绑他们，带到祭司长那里去吗？”

听的人都大吃一惊，说：“他不就是那在耶路撒冷迫害信徒的人吗？他到这里来不是要把大马士革的信徒押去见祭司长吗？”

听见的人都很惊奇，说：“在耶路撒冷残害求告这名的，不是这个人吗？他来这里不是要缉拿他们交给祭司长吗？”

所有听见的人都十分惊讶，说：“这不就是那个在耶路撒冷残害了那些求告这名的人吗？而且他来到这里，不就是为要捆绑他们，带到祭司长们那里吗？”

凡聽見的人都驚奇，說：「在耶路撒冷殘害求告這名的，不是這人嗎？並且他到這裏來，特要捆綁他們，帶到祭司長那裏。」

凡聽見的人都很驚奇，說：「在耶路撒冷殘害求告這名的不就是這個人嗎？他不是到這裏來要捆綁他們，帶到祭司長那裏去嗎？」

聽的人都大吃一驚，說：「他不就是那在耶路撒冷迫害信徒的人嗎？他到這裡來不是要把大馬士革的信徒押去見祭司長嗎？」

聽見的人都很驚奇，說：“在耶路撒冷殘害求告這名的，不是這個人嗎？他來這裡不是要緝拿他們交給祭司長嗎？”

凡聽見的都驚奇說：『這個人豈不是那在耶路撒冷殘害呼求這名的麼？他到這裏來，豈不是要捆綁他們，帶到祭司長那裏麼？』

所有聽見的人都十分驚訝，說：「這不就是那個在耶路撒冷殘害了那些求告這名的人嗎？而且他來到這裡，不就是為要捆綁他們，帶到祭司長們那裡嗎？」

聞者皆驚異之、曰、此人非在耶路撒冷、殘害籲斯名者、且來此、欲繫之、解於祭司諸長乎、

眾聞、奇之曰、此非在耶路撒冷、殘賊凡籲斯名者乎、今至此、欲繫是徒、解祭司諸長歟、

凡聞之者、皆奇異曰、此人非在耶路撒冷殘害籲斯名者乎、今至此、非為縛之以解於祭司諸長乎、

聞者異曰『耶路撒冷殘害呼籲斯名者、非斯人乎？此來非欲網弋若輩、以解司祭長乎？』

All those who heard him were astonished and asked,“ Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”

All who heard him were amazed. They asked,“ Isn’t he the man who caused great trouble in Jerusalem? Didn’t he make trouble for those who worship Jesus? Hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”

And all who heard him were amazed and said,“ Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?”

All who heard him were astounded and said,“ Isn’t this the man in Jerusalem who was causing havoc for those who called on this name and came here for the purpose of taking them as prisoners to the chief priests?”

All those hearing him continued to be amazed, and were saying,“ Is this not the one who in Jerusalem destroyed those who called on this name, and had come here for the purpose of bringing them bound before the chief priests?”

Then all who heard were amazed, and said,“ Is this not he who destroyed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and has come here for that purpose, so that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?”

And all that heard him were amazed, and said, Is not this he that in Jerusalem made havoc of them that called on this name? and he had come hither for this intent, that he might bring them bound before the chief priests.

But all who heard him were astounded and said,“ Isn’t this the man who, in Jerusalem, was destroying those who called on this name and then came here for the purpose of taking them as prisoners to the chief priests?”

But all that heard[ him] were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

All who heard him were amazed and were saying,“ Is this not the man who in Jerusalem was ravaging those who call on this name, and who had come here to bring them as prisoners to the chief priests?”

All who heard him were amazed, and said,“ Isn’t this he who in Jerusalem made havoc of those who called on this name? And he had come here intending to bring them bound before the chief priests!”

“ But Lord,” exclaimed Ananias,“ I’ve heard many people talk about the terrible things this man has done to the believers in Jerusalem!And he is authorized by the leading priests to arrest everyone who calls upon your name.”

But Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house, dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison.

When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded!

I and the children the Lord has given me serve as signs and warnings to Israel from the Lord of Heaven’s Armies who dwells in his Temple on Mount Zion.

Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest.He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the Way he found there. He wanted to bring them— both men and women— back to Jerusalem in chains.

They stood there amazed and perplexed.“ What can this mean?” they asked each other.

No curse can touch Jacob; no magic has any power against Israel. For now it will be said of Jacob,‘ What wonders God has done for Israel!’

You know what I was like when I followed the Jewish religion— how I violently persecuted God’s church. I did my best to destroy it.I was far ahead of my fellow Jews in my zeal for the traditions of my ancestors.But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased himto reveal his Son to me so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. When this happened, I did not rush out to consult with any human being.Nor did I go up to Jerusalem to consult with those who were apostles before I was. Instead, I went away into Arabia, and later I returned to the city of Damascus.Then three years later I went to Jerusalem to get to know Peter, and I stayed with him for fifteen days.The only other apostle I met at that time was James, the Lord’s brother.I declare before God that what I am writing to you is not a lie.After that visit I went north into the provinces of Syria and Cilicia.And still the churches in Christ that are in Judea didn’t know me personally.All they knew was that people were saying,“ The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!”And they praised God because of me.

When they heard the loud noise, everyone came running, and they were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken by the believers.

A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, and they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons. He was sitting there fully clothed and perfectly sane, and they were all afraid.Then those who had seen what happened told the others about the demon possessed man and the pigs.And the crowd began pleading with Jesus to go away and leave them alone.As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him.But Jesus said,“ No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.”So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them.

When he comes on that day, he will receive glory from his holy people— praise from all who believe. And this includes you, for you believed what we told you about him.

“ Listen to me, O Jeshua the high priest, and all you other priests. You are symbols of things to come. Soon I am going to bring my servant, the Branch.

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.

He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said,“ Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?”Then they scoffed,“ He’s just the carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers— James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas.

His neighbors and others who knew him as a blind beggar asked each other,“ Isn’t this the man who used to sit and beg?”Some said he was, and others said,“ No, he just looks like him!” But the beggar kept saying,“ Yes, I am the same one!”

The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.

My life is an example to many, because you have been my strength and protection.
