But the Lord said to Ananias,“ Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace,to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,

of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the effective working of His power.To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them.But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name,

“ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,

for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle— I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying— a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

Paul, an apostle( not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead),

I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you,to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’“ Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.

As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said,“ Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

Then He said to me,‘ Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles.’”

You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

Nevertheless, brethren, I have written more boldly to you on some points, as reminding you, because of the grace given to me by God,that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.Therefore I have reason to glory in Christ Jesus in the things which pertain to God.For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient—in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man’s foundation,but as it is written:“ To whom He was not announced, they shall see; And those who have not heard shall understand.”

Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction,and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory,even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter( for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles),and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”But he said,“ O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send.”So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said:“ Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

Now I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that I often planned to come to you( but was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles.I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise.So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also.

Then Agrippa said to Festus,“ This man might have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.”

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

But the Lord said to me:“ Do not say,‘ I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.

Then Agrippa said to Festus,“ I also would like to hear the man myself.”“ Tomorrow,” he said,“ you shall hear him.”So the next day, when Agrippa and Bernice had come with great pomp, and had entered the auditorium with the commanders and the prominent men of the city, at Festus’ command Paul was brought in.And Festus said:“ King Agrippa and all the men who are here present with us, you see this man about whom the whole assembly of the Jews petitioned me, both at Jerusalem and here, crying out that he was not fit to live any longer.But when I found that he had committed nothing deserving of death, and that he himself had appealed to Augustus, I decided to send him.I have nothing certain to write to my Lord concerning him. Therefore I have brought him out before you, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that after the examination has taken place I may have something to write.For it seems to me unreasonable to send a prisoner and not to specify the charges against him.”Then Agrippa said to Paul,“ You are permitted to speak for yourself.” So Paul stretched out his hand and answered for himself:“ I think myself happy, King Agrippa, because today I shall answer for myself before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews,especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which have to do with the Jews. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently.“ My manner of life from my youth, which was spent from the beginning among my own nation at Jerusalem, all the Jews know.They knew me from the first, if they were willing to testify, that according to the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers.To this promise our twelve tribes, earnestly serving God night and day, hope to attain. For this hope’s sake, King Agrippa, I am accused by the Jews.Why should it be thought incredible by you that God raises the dead?“ Indeed, I myself thought I must do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.This I also did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them.And I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

When he had greeted them, he told in detail those things which God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

And it came to pass after three days that Paul called the leaders of the Jews together. So when they had come together, he said to them:“ Men and brethren, though I have done nothing against our people or the customs of our fathers, yet I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans,who, when they had examined me, wanted to let me go, because there was no cause for putting me to death.But when the Jews spoke against it, I was compelled to appeal to Caesar, not that I had anything of which to accuse my nation.For this reason therefore I have called for you, to see you and speak with you, because for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.”Then they said to him,“ We neither received letters from Judea concerning you, nor have any of the brethren who came reported or spoken any evil of you.But we desire to hear from you what you think; for concerning this sect, we know that it is spoken against everywhere.”So when they had appointed him a day, many came to him at his lodging, to whom he explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning till evening.And some were persuaded by the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved.So when they did not agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had said one word:“ The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers,saying,‘ Go to this people and say:“ Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand; And seeing you will see, and not perceive;For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.”’“ Therefore let it be known to you that the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it!”Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God

saying,‘ Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’

Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying,“ Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.”

of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God,the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.
