他被壓迫，受苦楚，總不開口；就如小羊被牽到屠宰之地，又如同羊在剪毛人面前無聲，總不開口。他因受威壓、受審判而被奪取了性命，他那世代的人誰還思想到他從活人之地被剪除是為了我人民的過犯而被鞭打呢？

我必使他們像羊羔下到屠宰之地，像公綿羊和公山羊下到宰殺之場。

你使我們像羊給人吞喫，使我們四散於列國中。你以不值錢之價出賣了你的子民；憑其價值你並不多得利。

我緘默無聲，我安靜都無用；我的痛苦搞得更厲害，

是像經上所記：「我們為你的緣故、終日被處死、看為將被屠宰的羊」麼？

我卻像柔順的羊羔，被牽到屠殺之地。我並不知道他們設計謀是要害死我；他們說：『我們來把樹連樹汁都滅掉，將他從活人之地剪除掉，使他的名不再被記念。』

我緘默不開口，因為是你作了的。

第二天、約翰看見耶穌向他那裏走去，就說：『看哪，上帝的羊羔，除掉世人的罪的！

但你呢，永恆主啊，你深知我；你看透我，你察驗我對你怎樣；求你將他們拉出來、如拉屠宰的羊，將他們分別出來、以備殺戮之日。

大祭司就站起來，對耶穌說：『你甚麼都不回答；這些人作見證告你甚麼呢？』耶穌卻不作聲。大祭司對他說：『我指着永活的上帝誓囑你，告訴我們，你是上帝的兒子、上帝所膏立者不是。』

這是要應驗他所說過的話說：『你所給了我的人，連一個我也沒有失掉。』）西門彼得有一把刀，就抽出來，擊了大祭司的僕人，砍掉他右邊的耳朵；那僕人名叫馬勒古。於是耶穌對彼得說：『收刀入鞘！父給了我的杯、難道我不喝麼？』
