So Philip ran up to it and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. He asked him,“ Do you understand what you’re reading?”

播於沃壤者、乃人聽道而悟、結實、或百倍、或六十倍、或三十倍、○

凡聞天國之道而不悟、惡者至、奪其心之所播、此播於道旁者也、

爾探索諸經、意其中有永生、而證我者即此也、

爾觀先知但以理所言、穢惡摧殘者、立於聖地、讀者宜致思焉、

但在會中、與其以方言言萬言、寧以知識言五言、以訓人也、○

爾拓我心、我則趨爾誡之道兮、○

爾手可為者、當盡力為之、緣爾將至之陰府、無工作、無籌畫、無知識、無智慧、○

謂之曰、此乃我素偕爾時、所語爾者、云、凡摩西律、先知書、及詩篇所載指我者、悉必應也、遂啟其聰、使悟諸經、

遂召眾語之曰、爾宜聽而悟也、

讀經者宜悟哉、爾見穢惡摧殘者、立於不當立之地、斯時也、居猶太者、宜遁於山、

勿為愚、務悉主旨、

凡此爾皆悟乎、對曰然、

智在於此、有穎悟者可計獸之數、蓋人數也、即六百六十有六、

耶穌曰、行遣我者之旨、而畢其工、即我之糧也、

遂起而往、遇埃提阿伯人、乃操權之宦者、總司埃提阿伯女王干大基之庫者也、曾至耶路撒冷崇拜而返、
