掃羅也贊同處死他。從那一天開始，耶路撒冷的教會遭受到大迫害，除了使徒以外，眾門徒都分散在猶太和撒瑪利亞各處。

那些被認為是教會柱石的雅各、磯法、約翰知道上帝所賜給我的恩典，就跟我和巴拿巴握右手以示合作，同意我們往外邦人那裏去，他們往受割禮的人那裏去。

於是差派我們在基督福音上作上帝同工的弟兄提摩太前去，在你們所信的道上堅固你們，勸勉你們，

為此，我們也不斷地感謝上帝，因為你們聽見我們所傳上帝的道的時候，你們領受了，不以為這是人的道，而以為這確實是上帝的道，而且在你們信主的人當中運行着。

並且在那沉淪的人身上行各樣不義的詭詐，因為他們不領受愛真理的心，好讓他們得救。

使徒和在猶太的眾弟兄聽到外邦人也領受了上帝的道。

下午三點鐘禱告的時候，彼得和約翰上聖殿去。一個從母腹裏就是瘸腿的人正被人抬來，他們天天把他放在聖殿的一個叫美門的門口，求進聖殿的人施捨。他看見彼得、約翰將要進聖殿，就求他們施捨。

撒在好土裏的，就是人聽了道，明白了，後來結了果實，有一百倍的，有六十倍的，有三十倍的。」

棄絕我、不領受我話的人自有審判他的；我所講的道在末日要審判他。

耶穌打發彼得和約翰，說：「你們去為我們預備逾越節的宴席，好讓我們吃。」

這地方的猶太人比帖撒羅尼迦的人開明，熱心領受這道，天天查考聖經，要知道這道是否真實。

於是領受他話的人，都受了洗；那一天，門徒約添了三千人。

那些因司提反的事遭患難而四處分散的門徒，直走到腓尼基、塞浦路斯和安提阿。他們不向別人講道，只向猶太人講。但內中有塞浦路斯和古利奈人，他們到了安提阿也向希臘人傳講主耶穌的福音。主的手與他們同在，信而歸主的人數很多。這風聲傳到耶路撒冷教會的人耳中，他們就打發巴拿巴到安提阿去。

他們到了耶路撒冷，教會、使徒和長老都接待他們，他們就述說上帝同他們所做的一切事。
