扫罗也赞同处死他。从那一天开始，耶路撒冷的教会遭受到大迫害，除了使徒以外，众门徒都分散在犹太和撒玛利亚各处。

那些被认为是教会柱石的雅各、矶法、约翰知道上帝所赐给我的恩典，就跟我和巴拿巴握右手以示合作，同意我们往外邦人那里去，他们往受割礼的人那里去。

下午三点钟祷告的时候，彼得和约翰上圣殿去。一个从母腹里就是瘸腿的人正被人抬来，他们天天把他放在圣殿的一个叫美门的门口，求进圣殿的人施舍。他看见彼得、约翰将要进圣殿，就求他们施舍。

撒在好土里的，就是人听了道，明白了，后来结了果实，有一百倍的，有六十倍的，有三十倍的。”

弃绝我、不领受我话的人自有审判他的；我所讲的道在末日要审判他。

耶稣打发彼得和约翰，说：“你们去为我们预备逾越节的宴席，好让我们吃。”

这地方的犹太人比帖撒罗尼迦的人开明，热心领受这道，天天查考圣经，要知道这道是否真实。

于是领受他话的人，都受了洗；那一天，门徒约添了三千人。

那些因司提反的事遭患难而四处分散的门徒，直走到腓尼基、塞浦路斯和安提阿。他们不向别人讲道，只向犹太人讲。但内中有塞浦路斯和古利奈人，他们到了安提阿也向希腊人传讲主耶稣的福音。主的手与他们同在，信而归主的人数很多。这风声传到耶路撒冷教会的人耳中，他们就打发巴拿巴到安提阿去。

他们到了耶路撒冷，教会、使徒和长老都接待他们，他们就述说上帝同他们所做的一切事。
