And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,

Jesus answered them,“ I did one work, and you all marvel at it.

They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God their redeemer.But they flattered him with their mouths; they lied to him with their tongues.Their heart was not steadfast toward him; they were not faithful to his covenant.

and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.

The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.

As he was saying these things, many believed in him.So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him,“ If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,

And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs that he was doing.But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all peopleand needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.

And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away.
