這水所預表的洗禮，現在藉着耶穌基督的復活拯救你們，不是除掉肉體的污穢，而是向上帝懇求有無虧的良心。

然而，照主的安排，女人不可沒有男人，男人也不可沒有女人。

腓利就開口，從這段經文開始，對他傳講耶穌的福音。二人正沿路往前走，到了有水的地方，太監說：「看哪！這裏有水，有甚麼能阻止我受洗呢？」

「我素常在你們中間到處傳講上帝的國；現在我知道，你們眾人以後不會再見到我的面了。

有一個賣紫色布的婦人，名叫呂底亞，是推雅推喇城的人，素來敬拜上帝。她在聽着，主就開導她的心，使她留心聽保羅所講的話。她和她一家都領了洗，就求我們說：「你們若以為我是真心信主的，請到我家裏來住。」於是她堅決請我們留下。

信主的人越發增添，連男帶女都很多，

他又對他們說：「你們往普天下去，傳福音給萬民聽。信而受洗的必然得救，不信的必被定罪。

因為，人心裏信就可以稱義，口裏宣認就可以得救。

放膽傳講上帝的國，並教導主耶穌基督的事，沒有人禁止。

不再分猶太人或希臘人，不再分為奴的自主的，不再分男的女的，因為你們在基督耶穌裏都成為一了。

但內中有塞浦路斯和古利奈人，他們到了安提阿也向希臘人傳講主耶穌的福音。

他們說：「當信主耶穌，你和你一家都必得救。」他們就把主的道講給他和他全家的人聽。當夜，就在那時候，獄警把他們帶去，洗他們的傷；他和他所有的家人立刻都受了洗。於是獄警領他們上自己的家裏去，給他們擺上飯。他和全家的人，因為信了上帝，都滿心喜樂。

又差遣他們宣講上帝的國，醫治病人，

不論猶太人和希臘人，我都已證明他們當在上帝面前悔改，信靠我們的主耶穌。

耶穌對他說：「讓死人埋葬他們的死人，你只管去傳講上帝的國。」

會堂的主管基利司布和全家都信了主，還有許多哥林多人聽了就信，而且受了洗。
