这水所预表的洗礼，现在藉着耶稣基督的复活拯救你们，不是除掉肉体的污秽，而是向上帝恳求有无亏的良心。

然而，照主的安排，女人不可没有男人，男人也不可没有女人。

腓利就开口，从这段经文开始，对他传讲耶稣的福音。二人正沿路往前走，到了有水的地方，太监说：“看哪！这里有水，有什么能阻止我受洗呢？”

“我素常在你们中间到处传讲上帝的国；现在我知道，你们众人以后不会再见到我的面了。

有一个卖紫色布的妇人，名叫吕底亚，是推雅推喇城的人，素来敬拜上帝。她在听着，主就开导她的心，使她留心听保罗所讲的话。她和她一家都领了洗，就求我们说：“你们若以为我是真心信主的，请到我家里来住。”于是她坚决请我们留下。

信主的人越发增添，连男带女都很多，

他又对他们说：“你们往普天下去，传福音给万民听。信而受洗的必然得救，不信的必被定罪。

因为，人心里信就可以称义，口里宣认就可以得救。

放胆传讲上帝的国，并教导主耶稣基督的事，没有人禁止。

不再分犹太人或希腊人，不再分为奴的自主的，不再分男的女的，因为你们在基督耶稣里都成为一了。

但内中有塞浦路斯和古利奈人，他们到了安提阿也向希腊人传讲主耶稣的福音。

他们说：“当信主耶稣，你和你一家都必得救。”他们就把主的道讲给他和他全家的人听。当夜，就在那时候，狱警把他们带去，洗他们的伤；他和他所有的家人立刻都受了洗。于是狱警领他们上自己的家里去，给他们摆上饭。他和全家的人，因为信了上帝，都满心喜乐。

又差遣他们宣讲上帝的国，医治病人，

不论犹太人和希腊人，我都已证明他们当在上帝面前悔改，信靠我们的主耶稣。

耶稣对他说：“让死人埋葬他们的死人，你只管去传讲上帝的国。”

会堂的主管基利司布和全家都信了主，还有许多哥林多人听了就信，而且受了洗。
