所有的人，從卑微的到尊貴的，都聽從他。他們說：「這個人就是那被稱為『神的大能者』的。」

他們本來以為他快要腫起來，或是突然倒下死去，然而等了很久，看見他沒有任何異常，就改變了想法，說他是個神。

眾人看見保羅所做的，就用利考尼亞話高聲說：「神明像人那樣降臨在我們中間了！」

不過對那些蒙召的人，無論是猶太人、或是希臘人，基督總是神的大能、神的智慧。

這獸的七個頭中有一個好像受了致命傷，可是這致命傷得了痊癒。全地的人都感到驚奇，跟隨了這獸。

許多人會隨從他們好色的事；真理之道也會因他們的緣故，受到褻瀆。

這樣，我們就不再是小孩子，在人的狡詐和詭計中陷入那迷惑人的騙局，被各種教義之風搖動，飄來飄去。

尼尼微人就相信神，並宣告禁食，無論尊貴的或卑微的，都披上麻布。

因為你們做為聰明人，樂意容忍愚妄的人！
