所有的人，从卑微的到尊贵的，都听从他。他们说：“这个人就是那被称为‘神的大能者’的。”

他们本来以为他快要肿起来，或是突然倒下死去，然而等了很久，看见他没有任何异常，就改变了想法，说他是个神。

众人看见保罗所做的，就用利考尼亚话高声说：“神明像人那样降临在我们中间了！”

不过对那些蒙召的人，无论是犹太人、或是希腊人，基督总是神的大能、神的智慧。

这兽的七个头中有一个好像受了致命伤，可是这致命伤得了痊愈。全地的人都感到惊奇，跟随了这兽。

许多人会随从他们好色的事；真理之道也会因他们的缘故，受到亵渎。

这样，我们就不再是小孩子，在人的狡诈和诡计中陷入那迷惑人的骗局，被各种教义之风摇动，飘来飘去。

尼尼微人就相信神，并宣告禁食，无论尊贵的或卑微的，都披上麻布。

因为你们做为聪明人，乐意容忍愚妄的人！
