When the blood of Stephen, your witness, was shed, I also was standing by, consenting to his death, and guarding the cloaks of those who killed him.’

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

They agreed with him. Summoning the apostles, they beat them and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and were determined to kill them.

Therefore also the wisdom of God said,‘ I will send to them prophets and apostles; and some of them they will kill and persecute,that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.

They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem. They sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch,

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king,“ Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.If it happens, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up.”

Pharaoh said to him,“ Get away from me! Be careful to see my face no more; for in the day you see my face you shall die!”Moses said,“ You have spoken well. I will see your face again no more.”

Therefore those who were scattered abroad went around preaching the word.

So the assemblies throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace, and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

Remember the word that I said to you:‘ A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,

They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.

Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

“ You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.

When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house( now his windows were open in his room toward Jerusalem) and he kneeled on his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.

From that city many of the Samaritans believed in him because of the word of the woman, who testified,“ He told me everything that I did.”So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed there two days.Many more believed because of his word.They said to the woman,“ Now we believe, not because of your speaking; for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

Now in the assembly that was at Antioch there were some prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News,

“ Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.”

I sent messengers to them, saying,“ I am doing a great work, so that I can’t come down. Why should the work cease, while I leave it, and come down to you?”

By faith, he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Therefore behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify; and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city;

and laid hands on the apostles, then put them in public custody.

This is he who was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel that spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, who received living revelations to give to us,

It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.

Now when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.
