and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.

And when the blood of Your martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by consenting to his death, and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.’

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

When they heard this, they were furious and plotted to kill them.

Therefore the wisdom of God also said,‘ I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation,

And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them.

Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only.But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king,“ O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

Then Pharaoh said to him,“ Get away from me! Take heed to yourself and see my face no more! For in the day you see my face you shall die!”So Moses said,“ You have spoken well. I will never see your face again.”

Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.

Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

Remember the word that I said to you,‘ A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,

They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service.

Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.

“ You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified,“ He told me all that I ever did.”So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.And many more believed because of His own word.Then they said to the woman,“ Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel,

“ Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.”

So I sent messengers to them, saying,“ I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?”

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.

Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,

and laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison.

“ This is he who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the Angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai, and with our fathers, the one who received the living oracles to give to us,

It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household!Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.“ Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.
