And when the blood of Stephen your witness was being shed, I myself was standing by and approving and watching over the garments of those who killed him.’

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

and when they had called in the apostles, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

When they heard this, they were enraged and wanted to kill them.

Therefore also the Wisdom of God said,‘ I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation,

while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them.

Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews.But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also, preaching the Lord Jesus.And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord.The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king,“ O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

Then Pharaoh said to him,“ Get away from me; take care never to see my face again, for on the day you see my face you shall die.”Moses said,“ As you say! I will not see your face again.”

Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word.

So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.

Remember the word that I said to you:‘ A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John,

They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.

Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

“ You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.

Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony,“ He told me all that I ever did.”So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days.And many more believed because of his word.They said to the woman,“ It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”

Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers, Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a lifelong friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel,

“ Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this Life.”

And I sent messengers to them, saying,“ I am doing a great work and I cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?”

By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.

Therefore I send you prophets and wise men and scribes, some of whom you will kill and crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town,

they arrested the apostles and put them in the public prison.

This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. He received living oracles to give to us.

It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household.“ So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him.
