But here is what I tell you. Love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you.

Paul finished speaking. Then he got down on his knees with all of them and prayed.

Then he went a short distance away from them. There he got down on his knees and prayed.

When it was time to leave, we continued on our way. All the believers, including their whole families, went with us out of the city. There on the beach we got down on our knees to pray.

Those who have died believing in Christ are also lost.

Brothers and sisters, we want you to know what happens to those who die. We don’t want you to mourn, as other people do. They mourn because they don’t have any hope.We believe that Jesus died and rose again. When he returns, many who believe in him will have died already. We believe that God will bring them back with Jesus.

Bless those who hurt you. Bless them, and do not curse them.Be joyful with those who are joyful. Be sad with those who are sad.Agree with one another. Don’t be proud. Be willing to be a friend of people who aren’t considered important. Don’t think that you are better than others.Don’t pay back evil with evil. Be careful to do what everyone thinks is right.If possible, live in peace with everyone. Do that as much as you can.My dear friends, don’t try to get even. Leave room for God to show his anger. It is written,“ I am the God who judges people. I will pay them back,”( Deuteronomy 32:35) says the Lord.Do just the opposite. Scripture says,“ If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. By doing those things, you will pile up burning coals on their heads.”( Proverbs 25:21, 22)Don’t let evil overcome you. Overcome evil by doing good.

Then I got up. I had been very sad for quite a while. My inner robe and my coat were torn. I fell down on my knees. I spread my hands out to the Lord my God.

After that, he appeared to more than 500 brothers and sisters at the same time. Most of them are still living. But some have died.

That is why many of you are weak and sick. That is why a number of you have died.

Jesus died for us. Some will be alive when he comes. Others will be dead. Either way, we will live together with him.

Daniel found out that the king had signed the order. In spite of that, he did just as he had always done before. He went home to his upstairs room. Its windows opened toward Jerusalem. He went to his room three times a day to pray. He got down on his knees and gave thanks to his God.

Tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.

Bless those who call down curses on you. And pray for those who treat you badly.

Listen! I am telling you a mystery. We will not all die. But we will all be changed.
