但是我告訴你們：要愛你們的敵人，為那些逼迫你們的人禱告，

保羅說了這些話，就跪下來與大家一起禱告。

那時，耶穌說：「父啊，赦免他們！因為他們不知道自己在做什麼。」士兵們抽籤分了他的衣服。

彼得叫大家都出去，然後跪下禱告，接著轉過身對著遺體，說：「塔比莎，你起來！」那婦人就睜開眼睛，看見彼得，而且坐了起來。

但如今，基督已經從死人中復活，成為睡了之人初熟的果子，

就是說，大衛雖然在自己的世代，遵行了神的計劃之後就睡了，歸到他祖先那裡，並且經歷了腐朽，

然後他抽出身，離他們約有扔一塊石頭的距離，跪下禱告，

那些日子過了以後，我們出發前行，大家與妻子和兒女一起送我們到城外。我們都跪在岸上禱告，

因此在基督裡那些睡了的人也就滅亡了。

弟兄們，關於睡了的人，我們不願意你們不明白，免得你們憂傷，就像其他那些沒有盼望的人一樣。我們既然相信耶穌死而復活了，照樣也相信，那些藉著耶穌已經睡了的人，神將要把他們與耶穌一同帶來。

要祝福那些逼迫你們的人；要祝福，不要詛咒。要與快樂的人一同快樂；與哀哭的人一同哀哭。要彼此同心；不要心高氣傲，而要俯就卑微的人；不要自以為聰明。不要對任何人以惡報惡；要敬重所有的人看為美善的事；如果有可能，盡量在你們的事上與所有的人和睦。各位蒙愛的人哪，不要自己報復，寧可給神的震怒留地步，因為經上記著：「主說：報應在我，我將回報。」不但如此，「如果你的敵人餓了，就給他吃；如果他渴了，就給他喝；因為你這樣做，就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。」不要被惡所勝，反要以善勝惡。

後來一次性地向五百多個弟兄顯現，其中大多數人至今還在，雖然也有些已經睡了；

為此，你們中間有很多人是軟弱的、患病的，甚至有許多人睡著了。

基督替我們死，為要使我們無論是醒著還是睡著，都與他一同活著。

但以理知道這文書已經簽署了，回到自己的家裡——他閣樓上的窗戶朝耶路撒冷開著——仍然一天三次雙膝跪下，在他的神面前禱告、感謝，就像以前那樣做。

墳墓也開了，許多已睡了的聖徒的身體復活了。

要祝福那些詛咒你們的人，為那些詆毀你們的人禱告。

看哪，我告訴你們一個奧祕：我們並不是都要睡了，而是都要被改變，
