“ Our ancestors carried the Tabernacle with them through the wilderness. It was constructed according to the plan God had shown to Moses.

我列祖在曠野有法幕、如諭摩西者、命其遵所見之式而作、

吾祖在曠野有法櫃之帳幕、此乃天主命摩西依其所示之格式而造者也。

“ Our ancestors had the tabernacle of the covenant law with them in the wilderness. It had been made as God directed Moses, according to the pattern he had seen.

“ Long ago our people were in the desert. They had with them the holy tent. The tent was where the tablets of the covenant law were kept. Moses had made the holy tent as God had commanded him. Moses made it like the pattern he had seen.

“ Our fathers had the tent of witness in the wilderness, just as he who spoke to Moses directed him to make it, according to the pattern that he had seen.

“ Our ancestors had the tabernacle of the testimony in the wilderness, just as he who spoke to Moses commanded him to make it according to the pattern he had seen.

“ Our fathers had the tabernacle of testimony in the wilderness, just as He who spoke to Moses directed him to make it according to the pattern which he had seen.

This is an inventory of the materials used in building the Tabernacle of the Covenant. The Levites compiled the figures, as Moses directed, and Ithamar son of Aaron the priest served as recorder.

“ Every part of this plan,” David told Solomon,“ was given to me in writing from the hand of the Lord.”

In the second year after Israel’s departure from Egypt— on the twentieth day of the second month— the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle of the Covenant.

Then David gave Solomon the plans for the Temple and its surroundings, including the entry room, the storerooms, the upstairs rooms, the inner rooms, and the inner sanctuary— which was the place of atonement.

“ Set up this Tabernacle according to the pattern you were shown on the mountain.

On the day the Tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered it. But from evening until morning the cloud over the Tabernacle looked like a pillar of fire.

There he ministers in the heavenly Tabernacle, the true place of worship that was built by the Lord and not by human hands.

“ Bring your relatives of the tribe of Levi— your ancestral tribe— to assist you and your sons as you perform the sacred duties in front of the Tabernacle of the Covenant.

Now that the land was under Israelite control, the entire community of Israel gathered at Shiloh and set up the Tabernacle.

They serve in a system of worship that is only a copy, a shadow of the real one in heaven. For when Moses was getting ready to build the Tabernacle, God gave him this warning:“ Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on the mountain.”

So the king called for Jehoiada the high priest and asked him,“ Why haven’t you demanded that the Levites go out and collect the Temple taxes from the towns of Judah and from Jerusalem? Moses, the servant of the Lord, levied this tax on the community of Israel in order to maintain the Tabernacle of the Covenant.”

Put the Levites in charge of the Tabernacle of the Covenant, along with all its furnishings and equipment. They must carry the Tabernacle and all its furnishings as you travel, and they must take care of it and camp around it.Whenever it is time for the Tabernacle to move, the Levites will take it down. And when it is time to stop, they will set it up again. But any unauthorized person who goes too near the Tabernacle must be put to death.Each tribe of Israel will camp in a designated area with its own family banner.But the Levites will camp around the Tabernacle of the Covenant to protect the community of Israel from the Lord’s anger. The Levites are responsible to stand guard around the Tabernacle.”

“ Have the people of Israel build me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them.You must build this Tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the pattern I will show you.

Moses placed the staffs in the Lord’s presence in the Tabernacle of the Covenant.When he went into the Tabernacle of the Covenant the next day, he found that Aaron’s staff, representing the tribe of Levi, had sprouted, budded, blossomed, and produced ripe almonds!
