于是神转身离开，任凭他们事奉天象，正如先知书所说：‘以色列家啊，你们在旷野四十年，岂是将祭牲和祭物献给我呢？

神就转身不顾，任凭他们去事奉天上的万象，正如先知书上所记载的：‘以色列家呀！你们在旷野的四十年里献上的牺牲和祭物，难道是给我的吗？

神就轉身不顧，任憑他們去事奉天上的萬象，正如先知書上所記載的：『以色列家呀！你們在曠野的四十年裡獻上的犧牲和祭物，難道是給我的嗎？

於是上帝轉而不顧、任其奉事天軍、如先知書所錄云、以色列室乎、爾四十年於曠野、豈以犧牲祭物獻我乎、

於是、上帝弗恤、聽其奉事天上列宿、先知書有云、以色列族乎、爾於曠野四十年、非以犧牲祭物獻我歟、

於是天主離之、聽其奉事天上群星、如先知書所載云、以色列族乎、爾於曠野歷四十年、獻犧牲祭物、豈獻於我乎、

天主乃棄置之、任彼奉事天上之日月星辰、此正如先知書所記曰：嗚呼義塞之家室、率彼曠野四十春。何曾貢我以祭品、何曾獻我以犧牲。

Then God turned away from them and abandoned them to serve the stars of heaven as their gods! In the book of the prophets it is written,‘ Was it to me you were bringing sacrifices and offerings during those forty years in the wilderness, Israel?

God turned away and gave them up to worship the stars of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: House of Israel, did you bring me offerings and sacrifices for forty years in the wilderness?

But God turned away and gave them over to serve the heavenly lights; as it is written in the book of the prophets:‘ You did not offer Me victims and sacrifices for forty years in the wilderness, did you, house of Israel?

「以色列家啊，你們在曠野四十年，豈是將祭物和供物獻給我呢？你們擡着為自己所造之摩洛的帳幕和偶像的龕，並你們的神星。

「以色列家啊，至於你們，主耶和華如此說：從此以後若不聽從我，就任憑你們去事奉偶像，只是不可再因你們的供物和偶像褻瀆我的聖名。

耶路撒冷的房屋和猶大君王的宮殿是已經被玷污的，就是他們在其上向天上的萬象燒香、向別神澆奠祭的宮殿房屋，都必與陀斐特一樣。』」

所以，神任憑他們逞着心裏的情慾行污穢的事，以致彼此玷辱自己的身體。他們將神的真實變為虛謊，去敬拜事奉受造之物，不敬奉那造物的主－主乃是可稱頌的，直到永遠。阿們！因此，神任憑他們放縱可羞恥的情慾。他們的女人把順性的用處變為逆性的用處；男人也是如此，棄了女人順性的用處，慾火攻心，彼此貪戀，男和男行可羞恥的事，就在自己身上受這妄為當得的報應。他們既然故意不認識神，神就任憑他們存邪僻的心，行那些不合理的事；

無奈，我的民不聽我的聲音；以色列全不理我。我便任憑他們心裏剛硬，隨自己的計謀而行。

他們竟悖逆，使主的聖靈擔憂。他就轉作他們的仇敵，親自攻擊他們。

你們若離棄耶和華去事奉外邦神，耶和華在降福之後，必轉而降禍與你們，把你們滅絕。」

以法蓮親近偶像，任憑他吧！

又恐怕你向天舉目觀看，見耶和華－你的神為天下萬民所擺列的日月星，就是天上的萬象，自己便被勾引敬拜事奉它。

我也必揀選迷惑他們的事，使他們所懼怕的臨到他們；因為我呼喚，無人答應；我說話，他們不聽從；反倒行我眼中看為惡的，揀選我所不喜悅的。

重新建築他父希西家所毀壞的邱壇，又為巴力築壇，做亞舍拉像，效法以色列王亞哈所行的，且敬拜事奉天上的萬象；

我若見太陽發光，明月行在空中，心就暗暗被引誘，口便親手；這也是審判官當罰的罪孽，又是我背棄在上的神。

離棄耶和華－他們神的一切誡命，為自己鑄了兩個牛犢的像，立了亞舍拉，敬拜天上的萬象，事奉巴力，

經上說：「你們今日若聽他的話，就不可硬着心，像惹他發怒的日子一樣。」那時，聽見他話惹他發怒的是誰呢？豈不是跟着摩西從埃及出來的眾人嗎？神四十年之久，又厭煩誰呢？豈不是那些犯罪、屍首倒在曠野的人嗎？

四十年之久，我厭煩那世代，說：這是心裏迷糊的百姓，竟不曉得我的作為！

在那裏，你們的祖宗試我探我，並且觀看我的作為有四十年之久。

因為以色列家的人，或在以色列中寄居的外人，凡與我隔絕，將他的假神接到心裏，把陷於罪的絆腳石放在面前，又就了先知來要為自己的事求問我的，我－耶和華必親自回答他。我必向那人變臉，使他作了警戒，笑談，令人驚駭，並且我要將他從我民中剪除；你們就知道我是耶和華。先知若被迷惑說一句預言，是我－耶和華任那先知受迷惑，我也必向他伸手，將他從我民以色列中除滅。他們必擔當自己的罪孽。先知的罪孽和求問之人的罪孽都是一樣，

去事奉敬拜別神，或拜日頭，或拜月亮，或拜天象，是主不曾吩咐的；

我也任他們遵行不美的律例，謹守不能使人活着的惡規。

他又領我到耶和華殿的內院。誰知，在耶和華的殿門口、廊子和祭壇中間，約有二十五個人背向耶和華的殿，面向東方拜日頭。

這人領百姓出來，在埃及，在紅海，在曠野，四十年間行了奇事神蹟。

你沒有將你的羊帶來給我作燔祭，也沒有用祭物尊敬我；我沒有因供物使你服勞，也沒有因乳香使你厭煩。

並且在那沉淪的人身上行各樣出於不義的詭詐；因他們不領受愛真理的心，使他們得救。故此，神就給他們一個生發錯誤的心，叫他們信從虛謊，使一切不信真理、倒喜愛不義的人都被定罪。
