神就轉臉不顧，任憑他們事奉天上的日月星辰，正如先知書上所寫的說：以色列家啊，你們四十年間在曠野，豈是將犧牲和祭物獻給我嗎？

於是上帝轉而不顧、任其奉事天軍、如先知書所錄云、以色列室乎、爾四十年於曠野、豈以犧牲祭物獻我乎、

於是、上帝弗恤、聽其奉事天上列宿、先知書有云、以色列族乎、爾於曠野四十年、非以犧牲祭物獻我歟、

於是天主離之、聽其奉事天上群星、如先知書所載云、以色列族乎、爾於曠野歷四十年、獻犧牲祭物、豈獻於我乎、

天主乃棄置之、任彼奉事天上之日月星辰、此正如先知書所記曰：嗚呼義塞之家室、率彼曠野四十春。何曾貢我以祭品、何曾獻我以犧牲。

以色列家啊！你们在旷野四十年，有献燔祭和素祭给我吗？你们抬着你们的神“撒固”王，和你们的星神“迦温”的神像，就是你们为自己所做的。

以色列家啊，至于你们，主耶和华这样说：你们各人去事奉自己的偶像吧！只是将来你们必要听从我，不可再以你们的供物和偶像亵渎我的圣名。

‘耶路撒冷的房屋和犹大列王的宫殿，都要像陀斐特一样成为不洁；人曾在这一切房屋宫殿的屋顶上，向天上的万象烧香，向别神浇奠祭。’”

因此，神就任凭他们顺着心中的私欲去作污秽的事，以致羞辱自己的身体。他们用虚谎取代了神的真理，敬拜事奉受造之物，却不敬拜事奉造物的主。他是永远可称颂的，阿们。因此，神就任凭他们放纵可耻的情欲：他们的女人把原来的性的功能，变成违反自然的功能；同样地，男人也舍弃了女人原来的性功能，彼此欲火攻心，男人与男人作出可耻的事。他们这样妄为，就在自己身上受到应该受的报应。他们既然故意不认识神，神就任凭他们存着败坏的心，去作那些不正当的事。

我的子民却不听我的话，以色列不肯服从我。因此，我就任凭他们心里刚硬，随着自己的计谋行事。

可是，他们竟然悖逆，使他的圣灵忧伤；所以他转作他们的仇敌，亲自攻击他们。

如果你们离弃耶和华，去事奉外族人的神，那么在耶和华赐福给你们之后，他必转而降祸与你们，把你们消灭。”

以法莲和偶像连在一起，任凭他吧！

又恐怕你抬头望天，看见日、月、星，就是天上万象的时候，就被勾引，去敬拜和事奉它们，那原是耶和华你们的神分给天下万民享用的。

所以，我也必选择迷惑他们的事，使他们所惧怕的临到他们身上；因为我呼唤你们，却没有人回答；我说话，你们都不听，反倒行我眼中看为恶的事，选择我所不喜悦的事。”

他重新建造邱坛，就是他父亲希西家所拆毁的；又为巴力建立祭坛，做亚舍拉，好像以色列王亚哈所做的，并且敬拜事奉天上的万象。

我若见太阳（“太阳”直译是“光”）照耀，或明月行在空中，以致心中暗暗地受到迷惑，用自己的嘴亲手；那么这也就是该受审判的罪孽，因为我欺哄了高高在上的神。

他们丢弃耶和华他们神的一切吩咐，为自己做了两个牛犊的铸像，又做亚舍拉，并且敬拜天上的万象和服事巴力；

经上说：“如果你们今天听从他的声音，就不要硬着心，像惹他发怒的时候一样。”那时，听了他的话而惹他发怒的是谁呢？不就是摩西从埃及领出来的那些人吗？四十年之久，神向谁发怒呢？不就是向那些犯了罪陈尸旷野的人吗？

四十年之久，我厌恶那个世代的人；我曾说：“他们是心里迷误的人民，不认识我的道路。”

在那里，你们的祖先以试验来试探我，观看我的作为有四十年之久。

因为以色列家的人中，或是在以色列寄居的外族人中，凡与我疏远，把他们的偶像接到心里去，把那陷自己在罪孽中的绊脚石放在自己面前，却又来见先知，要为自己求问我的，我耶和华必亲自报应他；我必向那人变脸，使他成为别人的鉴戒和讥笑的对象；我要把他从我子民中剪除；你们就知道我是耶和华。如果有先知被欺骗说一句话，是我耶和华任那先知受欺骗的；我必伸手攻击他，把他从我子民以色列中除灭。他们必担当自己的罪孽；求问的人的罪孽怎样，先知的罪孽也必怎样。

去事奉别的神，并且敬拜它们，敬拜太阳或月亮，或任何天象，是我耶和华没有吩咐的；

因此，我也把不好的律例和不能借以存活的典章赐给他们；

他又领我到耶和华殿的内院，在耶和华殿的门口，就是在走廊和祭坛中间，约有二十五个人，背向耶和华的殿，面向着东方；他们正在朝着东面叩拜太阳。

这人领他们出来，并且在埃及地、红海和旷野，行奇事神迹四十年。

作燔祭用的羊，你没有带来给我；也没有用你的祭物来尊敬我；我没有因献供物使你劳累；也没有因献乳香使你厌烦。

并且在那些沉沦的人身上，行各样不义的欺诈，因为他们不领受爱真理的心，使他们得救。因此，神就使错谬的思想运行在他们当中，让他们相信虚谎，叫所有不信真理倒喜爱不义的人，都被定罪。
