於是、上帝弗恤、聽其奉事天上列宿、先知書有云、以色列族乎、爾於曠野四十年、非以犧牲祭物獻我歟、

因此，上帝任憑他們隨從內心的情慾行污穢的事，玷污彼此的身體。他們把上帝的真理當作謊言，祭拜、供奉受造之物，卻不敬拜、事奉造物主。主是永遠值得稱頌的。阿們！因此，上帝任憑他們放縱可恥的情慾。女人放棄正常的兩性關係，做出變態反常的事。男人也背棄了和女人正常的兩性關係，慾火焚燒，同性之間彼此貪戀。男人和男人做出羞恥不堪的事，他們必在自己的身體上遭受應得的報應。既然他們故意不認識上帝，上帝就任憑他們心思敗壞，做不當做的事。

我的子民卻不肯聽我的話，以色列不願意順從我。因此我就任憑他們頑固不化，為所欲為。

他們卻叛逆，使祂的聖靈憂傷。於是，祂與他們為敵，親自攻擊他們。

如果你們背棄耶和華，去拜外族的神明，儘管祂曾經恩待你們，也必降禍給你們，毀滅你們。」

以法蓮與偶像為伍，任由他吧！

當你們舉目觀看你們的上帝耶和華賜給天下萬民的日、月、星辰等天上萬象時，不要受誘惑去跪拜、供奉它們。

我必重重地懲罰他們，使他們遭遇自己害怕的事。因為我呼喚，無人回應；我講話，無人聆聽。他們做我視為惡的事，專行令我不悅的事。」

他重建他父親希西迦拆毀的邱壇，效法以色列王亞哈為巴力築造祭壇，製造亞舍拉神像，並且祭拜和供奉天上的萬象。

我若見太陽發光，明月在天上移動，就暗自心生迷戀，向它們吻手示敬，就是犯了當受審判的罪惡，因為這等於我背棄了天上的上帝。

他們把他們的上帝耶和華的誡命拋諸腦後，鑄造了兩個金牛犢，還造了亞舍拉神像。他們祭拜巴力和天上的萬象，

聖經上說：「你們今日若聽見祂的聲音，不可像從前那樣硬著心悖逆祂。」聽見祂的聲音卻又悖逆祂的是誰呢？不就是摩西從埃及領出來的那些人嗎？四十年之久惹上帝發怒的是誰呢？不就是那些犯罪作惡並倒斃在曠野的人嗎？

所以，我憎惡他們四十年之久，我說，『他們偏離正路，不遵行我的命令。』

當時，你們的祖先試我、探我，觀看我的作為達四十年之久。

因為以色列人或是在以色列定居的外族人若背棄我，在心中樹立偶像，把導致犯罪的絆腳石放在自己面前，又來向先知求問我的旨意，我耶和華必親自用懲罰回答他。我必嚴懲他，使他成為眾人的鑒戒和笑柄。我必將他從我的子民中剷除。這樣，你們就知道我是耶和華。如果先知受迷惑說預言，那是我耶和華任他胡作非為，我必伸手懲治他，把他從我的以色列百姓中除滅。他們必擔當自己的罪過——假先知與求問的人要擔當同樣的罪過。

不遵守祂的禁令，去供奉和祭拜其他神明，祭拜日、月或星辰，

所以，我任由他們效法無用的律例，遵守無法使人活著的規條，

祂帶我來到耶和華殿的內院，在殿門口，走廊和祭壇中間約有二十五個人背向耶和華的殿，面向東方朝拜太陽。

摩西帶領以色列人出埃及，過紅海，越曠野，四十年間行了許多神蹟奇事。

你沒有帶來作燔祭的羊，也沒有用祭物來尊崇我。我沒有讓你因祭物而受累，也沒有讓你因香料而煩擾。

用盡各樣詭計欺騙那些將要滅亡的人，因為他們不喜歡接受那能拯救他們的真理。上帝就讓他們是非不辨，去相信那些虛假的謊言，使一切不相信真理、反喜愛不義的人都被定罪。
