塔勒带着他的儿子亚伯兰和他的孙子，就是哈兰的儿子罗得，也带着他的儿媳妇——他儿子亚伯兰的妻子撒莱，一同从迦勒底的吾珥出来，要往迦南地去。他们来到哈兰的时候，就在那里住下了。塔勒的年日有两百零五年，然后死在哈兰。

你是我从地极领来，从地角召来的；我对你说：“你是我的仆人；我拣选了你，没有弃绝你。”

是谁从东方兴起了一人，凭公义把他召唤到脚前？是谁把列国交在他面前，让他制伏君王们？他用刀使他们如尘土，用弓使他们像被吹散的麦秸；
