彼即離迦勒底人所住地區、而往哈蘭居焉。迨其父既歿、天主使其遷於爾等現居之地。

亚伯兰就照耶和华的吩咐离开哈兰，侄儿罗得与他同行。那时亚伯兰七十五岁。亚伯兰带着妻子撒莱、侄儿罗得以及在哈兰积攒的财物和所得的奴仆启程来到迦南。到了迦南以后，

他拉带着儿子亚伯兰、孙子——哈兰的儿子罗得、儿媳妇——亚伯兰的妻子撒莱，离开迦勒底的吾珥前往迦南，他们来到哈兰定居下来。他拉在那里去世，享年二百零五岁。

我把你从地极带来，从遥远的角落召来。我对你说，‘你是我的仆人，我拣选了你，没有丢弃你。

“谁使一人从东方兴起？谁凭公义把他召到跟前？谁把列国交给他，使他征服列国的君王，用刀将他们化为尘土，用弓将他们沦为风吹的碎秸？
