And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.

This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send[ to be] a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God,[ even] to Horeb.And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush[ was] not consumed.

In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

When thou passest through the waters, I[ will be] with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy[ place].

And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I[ am] the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

And Moses[ was] fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh.

But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only[ son]:That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which[ is] upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Moreover he said, I[ am] the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace,[ even] out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as[ ye are] this day.

And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou[ art] with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.And he will be a wild man; his hand[ will be] against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?

He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him[ in] Bethel, and there he spake with us;Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD[ is] his memorial.

And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.And he said unto him, What[ is] thy name? And he said, Jacob.And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.And Jacob asked[ him], and said, Tell[ me], I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore[ is] it[ that] thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

And for the precious things of the earth and fulness thereof, and[ for] the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let[ the blessing] come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him[ that was] separated from his brethren.

[ Saying], I[ am] the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.

In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they[ into] the wilderness of Sinai.For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come[ to] the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
