He even drew water for us and watered the flock.”“ So where is he?” he asked his daughters.“ Why then did you leave the man behind? Invite him to eat dinner.”Moses agreed to stay with the man, and he gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage.She gave birth to a son whom he named Gershom, for he said,“ I have been a foreigner in a foreign land.”

Now Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, had taken in Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he had sent her back,along with her two sons, one of whom was named Gershom( because Moses had said,“ I have been a foreigner in a foreign land”)and the other Eliezer( because he had said,“ The God of my father was my helper and delivered me from Pharaoh’s sword”).
