“ As the time drew near for God to fulfill his promise to Abraham, the number of our people in Egypt had greatly increased.

“及至神应许亚伯拉罕的日期将到，以色列民在埃及兴盛众多，

“当上帝应许亚伯拉罕的日期将到的时候，以色列人在埃及人丁兴旺，

“当神应许亚伯拉罕的日期将到的时候，以色列人在埃及人丁兴旺，

“上帝对亚伯拉罕所应许的日子快到的时侯，以色列人在埃及的人口已大大增加。

“神给亚伯拉罕的应许快要实现的时候，以色列人在埃及人口繁盛增多；

“随着神向亚伯拉罕所宣告的那应许时期临近，以色列子民在埃及兴旺、增多，

「及至神應許亞伯拉罕的日期將到，以色列民在埃及興盛眾多，

「當上帝應許亞伯拉罕的日期將到的時候，以色列人在埃及人丁興旺，

「當神應許亞伯拉罕的日期將到的時候，以色列人在埃及人丁興旺，

「上帝對亞伯拉罕所應許的日子快到的時侯，以色列人在埃及的人口已大大增加。

“神給亞伯拉罕的應許快要實現的時候，以色列人在埃及人口繁盛增多；

『當應許的時期、上帝向亞伯拉罕所公然應許的、將近實現的時候、人民在埃及興盛加多，

「隨著神向亞伯拉罕所宣告的那應許時期臨近，以色列子民在埃及興旺、增多，

迨上帝許亞伯拉罕之期已近、民於埃及、滋生蕃衍、

迨上帝誓許亞伯拉罕之期近、我民居埃及者蕃衍、

天主立誓許亞伯拉罕之言、將驗之期、以色列民在伊及增益蕃多、

迨天主所許於亞伯漢者之期將屆、義塞人在埃及日漸蕃衍；

“ In Egypt the number of our people grew and grew. It was nearly time for God to make his promise to Abraham come true.

“ But as the time of the promise drew near, which God had granted to Abraham, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt

“ As the time drew near when God would fulfill his promise to Abraham, the number of our people in Egypt greatly increased.

“ As the time was approaching to fulfill the promise that God had made to Abraham, the people flourished and multiplied in Egypt

“ But as the time of the promise which God had assured to Abraham was approaching, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt,

“ But when the time of the promise drew near which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt

But as the time of the promise drew nigh which God vouchsafed unto Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

“ As the time was drawing near to fulfill the promise that God had made to Abraham, the people flourished and multiplied in Egypt

But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

“ But as the time drew near for God to fulfill the promise he had declared to Abraham, the people increased greatly in number in Egypt,

“ But as the time of the promise came close which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

The God of the people of Israel chose our ancestors; he made the people prosper during their stay in Egypt; with mighty power he led them out of that country;

God spoke to him in this way:‘ For four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated.

So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous.

The Lord made his people very fruitful; he made them too numerous for their foes,whose hearts he turned to hate his people, to conspire against his servants.

but the Israelites were exceedingly fruitful; they multiplied greatly, increased in numbers and became so numerous that the land was filled with them.Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt.“ Look,” he said to his people,“ the Israelites have become far too numerous for us.Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh.But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Then the Lord said to him,“ Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there.But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age.In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.”
