“神给亚伯拉罕的应许快要实现的时候，以色列人在埃及人口繁盛增多；

“随着神向亚伯拉罕所宣告的那应许时期临近，以色列子民在埃及兴旺、增多，

「及至神應許亞伯拉罕的日期將到，以色列民在埃及興盛眾多，

「當上帝應許亞伯拉罕的日期將到的時候，以色列人在埃及人丁興旺，

『當應許的時期、上帝向亞伯拉罕所公然應許的、將近實現的時候、人民在埃及興盛加多，

「隨著神向亞伯拉罕所宣告的那應許時期臨近，以色列子民在埃及興旺、增多，

迨上帝許亞伯拉罕之期已近、民於埃及、滋生蕃衍、

迨上帝誓許亞伯拉罕之期近、我民居埃及者蕃衍、

天主立誓許亞伯拉罕之言、將驗之期、以色列民在伊及增益蕃多、

迨天主所許於亞伯漢者之期將屆、義塞人在埃及日漸蕃衍；

“ As the time drew near for God to fulfill his promise to Abraham, the number of our people in Egypt had greatly increased.

“ In Egypt the number of our people grew and grew. It was nearly time for God to make his promise to Abraham come true.

“ But as the time of the promise drew near, which God had granted to Abraham, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt

“ As the time drew near when God would fulfill his promise to Abraham, the number of our people in Egypt greatly increased.

“ As the time was approaching to fulfill the promise that God had made to Abraham, the people flourished and multiplied in Egypt

“ But as the time of the promise which God had assured to Abraham was approaching, the people increased and multiplied in Egypt,

“ But when the time of the promise drew near which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt

But as the time of the promise drew nigh which God vouchsafed unto Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

“ As the time was drawing near to fulfill the promise that God had made to Abraham, the people flourished and multiplied in Egypt

But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

“ But as the time drew near for God to fulfill the promise he had declared to Abraham, the people increased greatly in number in Egypt,

“ But as the time of the promise came close which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,

以色列的上帝拣选了我们的祖先，让他们在埃及寄居期间人丁兴旺成为大族，后来祂伸出臂膀带领他们离开埃及。

上帝又说，‘你的子孙必流落异乡，受奴役、被虐待四百年。

因此，以色列人口继续增加，更加繁盛。因为这两个接生婆敬畏上帝，上帝便赐福给她们，使她们生儿育女。

耶和华使祂的子民生养众多，比他们的仇敌还要强盛。祂使仇敌憎恨他们，用诡计虐待他们。

以色列人生养众多，人口大增，很快就遍布埃及，成为一个强大的民族。那时，埃及有一位不认识约瑟的新王登基，对他的百姓说：“你们看，以色列人比我们多，又比我们强。来吧！我们要设法阻止他们人口增长，否则一遇到战争，他们便会加入我们敌人的阵营来攻打我们，然后一走了之。”于是，埃及人派监工强迫以色列人服劳役，在比东和兰塞两地为法老兴建储货城。以色列人越受奴役，人口增长得越快，散居的范围也越广，令埃及人感到恐惧。

亲爱的弟兄姊妹，有一件事你们不可忽略，就是主看一日如千年，千年如一日。主的应许还未实现，有人以为祂拖延，其实祂不是拖延，而是在宽容你们。祂不愿任何人灭亡，愿意人人悔改。

耶和华对他说：“你要清楚知道，你的后裔必流落异乡，被奴役、虐待四百年。但我必惩罚奴役他们的国家，之后他们必带着大量的财物离开那里。而你必享长寿，安然离世。到了第四代，你的子孙必重回此地，因为亚摩利人现在还没有恶贯满盈。”
