Then the high priest questioned Stephen.“ Is what these people are saying true?” he asked.

大祭司问：“这是真的吗？”

大祭司说：“真有这些事吗？”

大祭司问司提反：“真有这些事吗？”

大祭司就說：「這些事果然有嗎？」

大祭司說：「果真有這些事嗎？」

大祭司說：「果真有這些事嗎？」

大祭司問：「這是真的嗎？」

大祭司說：“真有這些事嗎？”

大祭司說：『果真有這些事麼？』

大祭司問司提反：「真有這些事嗎？」

大祭司曰、斯事然乎、司提反曰、

祭司長問士提反曰、果有是乎、

大祭司問司提反曰、果有是乎、

大司祭審問曰：『有此事乎？』

Then the high priest asked Stephen,“ Are these charges true?”

And the high priest said,“ Are these things so?”

Then the high priest asked Stephen,“ Are these accusations true?”

“ Are these things true?” the high priest asked.

Now the high priest said,“ Are these things so?”

Then the high priest said,“ Are these things so?”

And the high priest said, Are these things so?

“ Is this true?” the high priest asked.

Then said the high priest, Are these things so?

Then the high priest said,“ Are these things true?”

The high priest said,“ Are these things so?”

“ We heard him say,‘ I will destroy this temple made by human hands. In three days I will build another temple, not made by human hands.’ ”But what they said did not agree.Then the high priest stood up in front of them. He asked Jesus,“ Aren’t you going to answer? What are these charges these men are bringing against you?”

Meanwhile, the high priest questioned Jesus. He asked him about his disciples and his teaching.“ I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus replied.“ I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I didn’t say anything in secret.Why question me? Ask the people who heard me. They certainly know what I said.”

They said,“ This fellow claimed,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God. I can build it again in three days.’ ”Then the high priest stood up. He asked Jesus,“ Aren’t you going to answer? What are these charges that these men are bringing against you?”

They found witnesses who were willing to tell lies. These liars said,“ This fellow never stops speaking against this holy place. He also speaks against the law.We have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place. He says Jesus will change the practices that Moses handed down to us.”

Then Pilate went back inside the palace. He ordered Jesus to be brought to him. Pilate asked him,“ Are you the king of the Jews?”“ Is that your own idea?” Jesus asked.“ Or did others talk to you about me?”“ Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied.“ Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. What have you done?”
