Some men came down from Judea and taught the brothers,“ Unless you are circumcised after the custom of Moses, you can’t be saved.”

They have been informed about you, that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children and not to walk after the customs.

I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more.”In that he says,“ A new covenant”, he has made the first old. But that which is becoming old and grows aged is near to vanishing away.

“ I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to far- away islands, who have not heard my fame, nor have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.They shall bring all your brothers out of all the nations for an offering to Yahweh, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says Yahweh, as the children of Israel bring their offering in a clean vessel into Yahweh’s house.Of them I will also select priests and Levites,” says Yahweh.

especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently.

Now if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood( for under it the people have received the law), what further need was there for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?For the priesthood being changed, there is of necessity a change made also in the law.For he of whom these things are said belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.For it is evident that our Lord has sprung out of Judah, about which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.This is yet more abundantly evident, if after the likeness of Melchizedek there arises another priest,who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life;for it is testified,“ You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.”For there is an annulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and uselessness( for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.”’”The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in Yahweh’s house.When Jeremiah had finished speaking all that Yahweh had commanded him to speak to all the people, the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying,“ You shall surely die!Why have you prophesied in Yahweh’s name, saying,‘ This house will be like Shiloh, and this city will be desolate, without inhabitant?’” All the people were crowded around Jeremiah in Yahweh’s house.

For the children of Israel shall live many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without sacred stone, and without ephod or idols.

But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, confined for the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.Therefore when he comes into the world, he says,“ You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.Then I said,‘ Behold, I have come( in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’”Previously saying,“ Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them”( those which are offered according to the law),then he has said,“ Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and often offering the same sacrifices which can never take away sins,but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,“ This is the covenant that I will make with them:‘ After those days,’ says the Lord,‘ I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;’” then he says,“ I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city will be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city will go out into captivity, and the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.

Yahweh says,“ Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build to me? Where will I rest?For my hand has made all these things, and so all these things came to be,” says Yahweh:“ but I will look to this man, even to he who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.He who kills an ox is as he who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as he who breaks a dog’s neck; he who offers an offering, as he who offers pig’s blood; he who burns frankincense, as he who blesses an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations:I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears on them; because when I called, no one answered; when I spoke, they didn’t listen; but they did that which was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I didn’t delight.”Hear Yahweh’s word, you who tremble at his word:“ Your brothers who hate you, who cast you out for my name’s sake, have said,‘ Let Yahweh be glorified, that we may see your joy;’ but it is those who shall be disappointed.A voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of Yahweh that repays his enemies what they deserve.

This is a symbol of the present age, where gifts and sacrifices are offered that are incapable, concerning the conscience, of making the worshiper perfect,being only( with meats and drinks and various washings) fleshly ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.But Christ having come as a high priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,

Don’t trust in lying words, saying,‘ Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, are these.’For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, and don’t walk after other gods to your own hurt;then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even forever more.Behold, you trust in lying words that can’t profit.Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods that you have not known,then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say,‘ We are delivered;’ that you may do all these abominations?Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it,” says Yahweh.“ But go now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.Now, because you have done all these works,” says Yahweh,“ and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you didn’t hear; and I called you, but you didn’t answer;therefore I will do to the house which is called by my name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.

Then Jeremiah spoke to all the princes and to all the people, saying,“ Yahweh sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.

“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me until you say,‘ Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

and said,“ This man said,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.’”
