Then they secretly induced men to say,“ We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

于是他们唆使众人，说：“我们听过他说谤渎摩西和神的话。”

于是他们暗中唆使人说：“我们听过这个人针对摩西和神说亵渎的话语。”

於是他們唆使眾人，說：“我們聽過他說謗瀆摩西和神的話。”

於是他們教唆人說：『我們曾聽見他說了謗讟摩西和上帝的話。』

於是他們暗中唆使人說：「我們聽過這個人針對摩西和神說褻瀆的話語。」

遂賄人使言曰、我儕曾聞其有謗凟摩西及上帝之言、

乃賄人使流言曰、我聞此人、僭妄摩西及上帝、

乃賄人使流言云、我聞此人出言褻瀆摩西及天主、

眾乃唆使流言、謂其誹謗摩西、褻瀆天主。

Then they secretly persuaded some men to say,“ We have heard Stephen speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God.”

Then in secret they talked some men into lying about Stephen. They said,“ We heard Stephen speak evil things against Moses and against God.”

Then they secretly instigated men who said,“ We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

So they persuaded some men to lie about Stephen, saying,“ We heard him blaspheme Moses, and even God.”

Then they secretly persuaded some men to say,“ We heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

Then they secretly induced men to say,“ We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

Then they suborned men, who said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.

Then they persuaded some men to say,“ We heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God!”

Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and[ against] God.

Then they secretly instigated some men to say,“ We have heard this man speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

Then they secretly induced men to say,“ We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

Now the chief priests and the entire Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.They did not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. But later on two came forward,

These things they will do because they have not known the Father nor Me.

And why not say( just as we are slanderously reported and as some claim that we say),“ Let’s do evil that good may come of it”? Their condemnation is deserved.

requesting a concession against Paul, that he might have him brought to Jerusalem( at the same time, setting an ambush to kill him on the way).

And when they heard about them, they began glorifying God; and they said to him,“ You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed, and they are all zealous for the Law;and they have been told about you, that you are teaching all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to abandon Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children nor to walk according to the customs.So what is to be done? They will certainly hear that you have come.

When it was day, the Jews formed a conspiracy and put themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul.There were more than forty who formed this plot.They came to the chief priests and the elders and said,“ We have put ourselves under an oath to taste nothing until we have killed Paul.Now therefore, you and the Council notify the commander to bring him down to you, as though you were going to investigate his case more thoroughly; and as for us, we are ready to kill him before he comes near the place.”

And when they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,and said,“ You are to say,‘ His disciples came at night and stole Him while we were asleep.’And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will appease him and keep you out of trouble.”And they took the money and did as they had been instructed; and this story was widely spread among the Jews and is to this day.

After Paul arrived, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him, bringing many, and serious, charges against him which they could not prove,

They put forward false witnesses who said,“ This man does not stop speaking against this holy place and the Law;

Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of the Lord must be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him. The stranger as well as the native, when he blasphemes the Name, shall be put to death.

even though I was previously a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent aggressor. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief;

But when they resisted and blasphemed, he shook out his garments and said to them,“ Your blood is on your own heads! I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel,‘ God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your countrymen.’This is the one who was in the assembly in the wilderness together with the angel who spoke to him at length on Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received living words to pass on to you.Our fathers were unwilling to be obedient to him; on the contrary they rejected him and turned back to Egypt in their hearts,

crying out,“ Men of Israel, help! This is the man who instructs everyone everywhere against our people and the Law and this place; and besides, he has even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place!”

Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have put your hope.For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.

and seat two worthless men opposite him, and have them testify against him, saying,‘ You cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”So the men of his city, the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did just as Jezebel had sent word to them, just as it was written in the letters which she had sent them.They proclaimed a fast, and seated Naboth at the head of the people.Then the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him; and the worthless men testified against him, against Naboth, before the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.

He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house.For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house.For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later;

We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, we do not know where He is from.”

Now after five days the high priest Ananias came down with some elders and an attorney named Tertullus, and they brought charges against Paul to the governor.After Paul had been summoned, Tertullus began accusing him, saying to the governor,“ Since we have attained great peace through you, and since reforms are being carried out for this nation by your foresight,we acknowledge this in every way and everywhere, most excellent Felix, with all thankfulness.But, that I may not weary you further, I beg you to grant us a brief hearing, by your kindness.For we have found this man a public menace and one who stirs up dissensions among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.And he even tried to desecrate the temple, so indeed we arrested him.

For from ancient generations Moses has those who preach him in every city, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

And as I punished them often in all the synagogues, I tried to force them to blaspheme; and since I was extremely enraged at them, I kept pursuing them even to foreign cities.

The Jews answered Him,“ We are not stoning You for a good work, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.”Jesus answered them,“ Has it not been written in your Law:‘ I said, you are gods’?If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came( and the Scripture cannot be nullified),are you saying of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,‘ You are blaspheming,’ because I said,‘ I am the Son of God’?
