在父上帝看來，純潔無瑕的虔誠是指照顧患難中的孤兒寡婦，並且不讓自己被世俗玷污。

他們輕慢父母，壓迫寄居者，欺負孤兒寡婦。

也不要發怨言，像他們當中的人那樣，結果被滅命的天使毀滅了。

聖經上說：「上帝所賜、住在我們心裡的聖靈深願我們完全屬於祂。」你們以為這是空談嗎？

列入名冊的寡婦必須年滿六十歲，在婚姻上從一而終，

如果寡婦有兒孫，就要叫她們的兒孫在家中學習盡孝道，奉養她們，以報答養育之恩，這是上帝所悅納的。真正有需要、無依無靠的寡婦仰賴上帝的幫助，晝夜不住地禱告祈求。
