今我語爾、宜遠斯人、姑聽之、蓋斯謀斯為、若由於人、必見傾毀、

今我語爾、宜遠此人、聽之可也、蓋其所謀所為、出於人、必自毀、

今我告爾、勿難此人、姑聽之、蓋其所謀所為若出於人、則必自毀、

為今之計、莫如予以放任、勿加干涉；若其計謀作為、乃本乎人意、則必自敗；

Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.

Be broken, you peoples, and be shattered; give ear, all you far countries; strap on your armor and be shattered; strap on your armor and be shattered.Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.

No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the Lord.

He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success.He catches the wise in their own craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are brought to a quick end.They meet with darkness in the daytime and grope at noonday as in the night.

The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations.

When our enemies heard that it was known to us and that God had frustrated their plan, we all returned to the wall, each to his work.

For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,

If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written,“ He catches the wise in their craftiness,”

that I will break the Assyrian in my land, and on my mountains trample him under foot; and his yoke shall depart from them, and his burden from their shoulder.”

And he said to them,“ Men of Israel, take care what you are about to do with these men.
